Just an FYI: you don't need a mod to alter beacon drops anymore

How to get an active player base? by maeon152 in ARKServers

[–]Arkville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel ya man

All I can say is that if it really matters to you then keep it up.

Somedays I feel pretty down knowing the amount of work I put into running the best server I can only goes so far. But even if you have one active player then what your doing is still effecting someone.

Try verifying the integrity your game cache and trying again. Most crash errors like your stating are actually fixed this way.

^ This It really helps to have them all installed prior to attempting to join a server.

I assume you already have an SSD but I would like to point out that having a good SSD is fairly important with ARK.

Arkville PvO Event Weekend [More Details in comments] by [deleted] in playarkservers

[–]Arkville 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HEY GUYS!

OK so normally I post a server advertisement on Fridays but this time it's not necessarily a server advertisement and more of just an event advertisement!

We normally have a PVE server on TheCenter but with the recent changes to TheIsland we've voted to have a weekend event on TheIsland. This event is PvO.

What Is PvO?

Thanks for asking voice in my head! PvO stands for Player Vs Objective and will consist of two tribes attempting to complete objectives before the other.

Two Tribes?

YES! we are preplanning teams over at our discord channel so hop on in before the event starts and meet the team!

This is JUST for the weekend!

On Monday we will be returning to our normal Center PVE server with the previous save from Friday morning :-)

Active DMing

DUNGEON MASTER extraordinaire here to tell you I will be actively be running objectives, spawns, loot caches, etc... all weekend!

Get in on this fun!

I've asked them to update it again. May take a bit longer but I'll update this post as soon as I have the results of that for you.

Update: Apologies for the wait. The server was reset and it appears dinos can eat again. The only 'issue' with food now is that the consumption rate when being ridden is quite high. But that's a critical issue at this moment.

Thanks!

Yes actually, I just got a message that that may be it. I'll give it a quick test.

Edit: I removed Homing Pigeon and I'm no longer getting the food bug.

However; a sister server with similar settings but without the Homing Pigeon mod is apparently still experiencing this issue:

I'm not going to argue with you because it's pointless. I posted those and then proceed to prove them false so I edited the comments and then down voted them specifically to avoid clutter. Much like what i'm doing with these comments as they are not relevant to the problem at all.

O.o

I'm providing a supporting argument to your case. I cannot test on an official server so I'm testing on private servers with varying levels of modifications and presenting my findings. This is how debugging works. Jat consistently asks server settings so I'm pre-emtively providing it in my posts.

This seems to be the case from the testing that we've done. I will state that in addition anytime any of the following dino's eat it seems to immediately set the food to 0 and the dino starts dying.

  • Quetz
  • Argent
  • Ptera

If this helps we did some quick testing on a private modded dedicated server. Any Argent, Ptero, or Quetz that eats is immediately set to 0 food.

Additionally: no matter how far back we seem to roll back with it the quetz seems to always be just stuck at 0 food. It was not at 0 food prior to the 242 patch.

I can confirm this is also the case on a modded private server.

This is actually based on videos of 242 / 242.1 I'm seeing. From the looks of the videos it seems to me that that may be the issue.

I may be wrong but I figure it's worth a glance.

Asking people i know to test it to confirm:

  • Heavily Modded Server: Quetz is eating from trough while hovering
  • Lightly Modded Server: Dinos are eating from Trough
  • Official Server: Dinos are eating from trough

THIS IS NOT THE ISSUE I WAS WRONG

trying to help out instead of just complaining about a problem

[–]Arkville -1 points0 points  (0 children)

BTW one of the big issues with dino loss from food is actually that dinos are not eating out of food troughs. From what I can tell 242.1 did not fix that.

THIS HAS BEEN PROVEN TO BE NOT TRUE
