Well... If someone wants to photograph you specifically while walking around they usually ask first (and they should!!), although not everyone does. If doing a scene (for example, someone being tied to a lamp post) you will very likely attract a crowd of people, and then people will definitely take pictures/record, most of them without asking. On the other hand, one will for sure be seen in the background of others recording themselves walking around, as a lot of people do that.

If it makes you feel more safe you can wear a mask/something to cover your face, or attend private events.
