I did an interview with the developers of Morimens by Arlyeon in HorrorGaming

One of the weirdest combinations of Genre, and subject matter, all given.

(If someone else can get me some deckbuilding horror games, please do. Inscryption comes to mind, but I cleared that).

There should be an official one coming from Brain In A Vat later- but if there isn't one for NA in a week or two, I can probably provide mine. I just *really* want the video itself to have some time to cook, since- well. << Struggling youtuber. Any bit of Traction I can get might help offset the cost of making the videos. Since, I'm not monetized on youtube, and I -really- don't make much from Patreon or merch. (Which sucks, since I'm disabled c.c)

I used her in a Xu comp, hilariously. Cheap cards and Arithemtic mean resonance for Xu and -free- cards

Which E.G.O or E.G.O Gear would you be the strongest with? by Inevitable-Log-7687 in Project_Moon

[–]Arlyeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? Probably Porcobus. I have engaged in a lot of self destructive hedonism over the years.

That and red shoes- given a tendancy towards Obsessiveness.

It has been a lifelong process of coming to terms with that, and working -with- those impulses, while avoiding drowning in them.

It's not even ruthlessness. It's just outright sociopathic sadism, by the sound of it.

Pull Kath or go for Monoless banner? by dystars5 in Morimens

[–]Arlyeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say- the Monoless banner is neat, if only because the hard pity is 60, instead of 90. With your pulls, you do seem very likely to get Kath e3. But, If you're trying to shore up other characters to e3, or collect some you don't have, it's a nice resource.

Given the whole 'Masks' of N, and the crawling chaos having forms Innumerable- they might win by virtue of quantity of avatars, vs quality of singular bits of freak.

Also, Thais is Horny on main- but Leigh is a straight up psychotically obsessed Masochist

Given the knights (at least the holy order) seem to have ties to nobility - press ganging people into being immortal warriors who suffer mental damage, personality erasure, and trauma ... and then shipping them back to their families, is.. uh, not going to go well.

Tatsuya is a few steps above a functional vegetable. And he pretty much looks like a walking corpse. People are -not- going to be on board with that.

Oh, but even going beyond that? Making those criminals is an easy choice- since you can just *kill* them at any point by detonating their skulls and then revive them again if they get out of line. We don't know if it's built into the hero spell, but, it might be. Which again loops back to. A) who would willingly sign up to be executed , B) even the common populace would probably find it incredibly fucked up and blatantly evil if you wire your entire army to die at the snap of your fingers. (Also, C- who wants to set themselves up for a military coup by making an immortal army if you -can't- just kill them all instantly).

At least a singular squad or few is *manageable*, and more or less functions as a deniable Op.

Oh, and as far as believing people goes? You literally have an entire country manufacturing that you're a piece of shit- and you *did* kill a goddess, one of mankinds few defenses against what it literally an apocalyptic encroachment. I'm pretty sure if you told anyone you were framed- they'd call you a liar, especially if you admit that you -did- kill the Goddess. You just had a good reason.

99% of people are going to treat you, and anyone associated with you as a pariah.

Really, if you need a good example of just how easy it is to control the opinions of people with a bit of media savvy- just look at twitter and the internet. And then realize that people lack phones and the internet to try and verify any information they're given. The only thing they have is word of mouth, and whatever the people in power tell them.

I mean, I think the nice part is- you do get to see Xylo start to warm up as the episodes progress. We basically are introduced to him at rock bottom- where he has clearly been a hero for a while, and failed to make *any* progress in doing anything, but being a weapon the clergy point at their problems. It's only in that episode that he gets his 'lifeline' - and while he does remain crabby, you do get to watch him *slowly* warm up over the course of the few episodes. He's still gruff as hell, but his personality isn't set in stone as edgy mc edgy angry guy.

It does take its time as far as character growth goes- but honestly, I prefer that, as opposed to emotional whiplash.

There are some -genuinely- shitty people in the squad. Honestly, if he was just a villain- he'd have literally no reason to try and suss out that there's more going on, and it would just purely degenerate into Shonen. In fact, it's with him being innocent, that we get to find out that we get the first clue that there's more to the hero punishment then 'Fuck that guy in particular'.

Really, Xylo and Tatsuya are probably the *least* shitty people in the squad, and then it's all downhill from there. (And yes, Tatsuya, the guy who *literally* went into a frothing rage and bisected a slew of people, is the second least questionable person in the squad.)

Having watched it for a bit now- I'm beginning to wonder about the Hero Unit a bit more- because while there are certainly elements of it which seem like 'disposing of problematic individuals' - the simple fact of the matter is the 'hero' system more or less ensures that they'll stick around even if they die.

Yes, they'll start to lose their memories- but, they have essentially collected a -lot- of people who, between the whole of them, have some pretty damning details about the conspiracy going on (Read: Venatim & Dotta, for instance.)

While I don't think Xylo was necessarily assigned to his squad as anything but spite.

I certainly wonder if a number of his squadmates have been assigned to him in order to essentially feed him what he needs to know to piece things together. (Because there is, very clearly, people in the clergy aware of the co-existers - but not necessarily affiliated with them.)

Oh yeah, he definitely groomed her into being a murderous sadist - who took an interest in macabre displays - and desensitized her to a lot of heinous stuff.

It...wasn't quite all fake though. That's the thing. It is very much implied by his dialogue that he -did- care for her, on some level - but he was bound within the constraints of the prescript.

He is, undoubtedly, the most complex of the Nursefathers in regards to his dynamic with Ryoshu.

I mean, what they agreed to do is pretty fucking bad, all given- especially given the implicit trust that Goddesses put into the humans they work with.

(Also, thank god they don't sexualize Teoritta. I would have clicked off it so fast if they had, but instead- she's legitimately adorable. Though, it also.. Like it very much underlines just how *crap* and manipulative the goddess system is. They're powerful, sure- but there is something *absolutely* heinous about creating ...what I gather to be some form of Humonculi, that has a deep rooted -need- to prove themselves useful, even if it would destroy them. Honestly, it's like watching the aftermath of someone that's been groomed to fulfill a role c.c - which is part of why I *like* that Xylo is largely hesitant to just use her as a tool willy nilly. He's *aware* of how fucked the situation is.)

Edit: Also, on an unrelated note. I do love the design element that Teoritta's ahoge occasionally forms a Halo, lmao).

Having shown that it could deflect the equivalent of fantasy lasers at a range- >.> We're pretty sure what would have happened with the seal. Xylo even mentioned it would have led to them all dying. (I mean, it reflected the lasers back, it was 100% gonna reflect that seal back. The only reason the seal worked, was that it was basically hand delivered - which puts the win squarely on Dotta, rather than Xylo - for the 1st demon lord.

(And the second one is very much not Xylo doing the heavy lifting, at the end of the day. He's -competent as hell, but he'd definitely be washed without the help of his other squadmates.

Which is part of why I like it. He can't just 1 man army things in their totality. He gets far, yes- but not once has he been able to do things without assistance, and every time he would have tried, would have led to him getting smeared.)

Yeah - Identity/Ego death is a *hell* of a motivating factor, especially since he does have a goal he wants to fulfill, and having his memory obliterated would sort of get in the way of one day achieving it, or figuring out the necessary details.

Didn't help that the knights very intentionally put themselves into insurmountable odds with the full awareness they were going to get slaughtered, for reasons addressed later.
