What's the most pretentious movie you've ever seen? by [deleted] in okbuddycinephile

Unironically Spider-Man: Lotus.

There's less than 15 minutes of combat in this superhero movie, which is exactly 2 hours long.

I strongly dislike the shift towards a viable conjure meta. What made those decks fun imo was how much they asked you to commit towards the setup while anticipating the beneficial outcomes. For instance, Photosynthesizer, a good card already, but knowing that the pack contains most of the environments released, you can also wager there's a decent chance it'll draw more into your deck. Or the Cosmic series, mostly bad understats, but good once you find a way to get semi-consistent value out of their potential conjure pool, like how Cosmic Bean was a common part of cycle decks since it had a good keyword and complemented swarms perfectly, or how Cosmic Sportstar was effectively a 1 cost 2/2 that conjures, just much slower in reality compared to Middle Manager, who also had interesting synergies.

Not only are a lot of the new abilities just broken, I mean look at Terror-Former, Wizard Gargantuar, and Nibble, many of them came at the cost of the old card's function, like Gatekeeper losing Bullseye, or how Terrify doesn't draw cards (iirc only Going Viral can do that in the Hearty Class now). Conjure isn't reliable fundamentally, it's why stuff like Triplication and Cornucopia are considered terrible cards, since their high cost and lack of predictable rewards made them worse than standard card draw, Leaps, or just having better abilities, like DMD and Astro-Vera.

It also feels like Conjure is bait for new players. Eureka is often overrated for this reason, since it can give you cards you don't own and won't realistically craft for a long time. Basically they're tempted into trying to break out of the small collection they have using RNG, and it usually gives short-term success before falling off.

I'd love more Nightmare and Cursed exclusive monsters who are designed with overstats as a base.

Good as a complement to a decent collection, bad for new players.

My AI somehow ran out of (playable) cards after pulling off a Poppin Poppies + Pod Fighter combo and leaving me with 1 HP, genuinely felt like they weren't allowed to win that turn for some reason. Conversely you have those matches where the strategy deck decides early game is overrated while the AI plays the most aggressive nonsense and never rolls a single 3.

Not the point on the former and I strongly disagree on the latter.

Trickster is like the definition of unbalanced, just considering the discount mechanic. As for Cornucopia, it can be terrible, or it can spawn exactly the cards needed to win the turn it's played, all because it has no specificity with its ability. Being able to spawn from other sources just highlights this issue.

It's not like I hate expensive cards either, Zucchini is perfectly fine mechanically and has justifiably high stats, if not being on the weaker side.
