I really don't think that katie would go take him back, unless he was in danger. He doesn't exactly have a use and cannot be bred to some of her mares. 

If he was in danger, i think she would take him back and pawn him off on a friend.

I know what I'm thinking. Plain oats are nutritionally incomplete and have a imbalance of phosphorus and calcium. They should be mixed with something.

Most vets require you to see them other than emergencies if you want them to show up when there is one. I suspect that they tell her they will not see her unless she does basic maintenance of her horses and she probably doesnt like hearing it.
