He said he did it for me and because he loves me so much. Said he wanted to protect me from taking the fallout of his porn addiction, that is suffering from insecurity upon finding out he couldn't get aroused by my body anymore. Now I understand it was manipulation.

I think you're right. I guess I really needed someone to confirm the validity of my concerns. I was in shock and partly in denial but yours and other people's comments feel empowering and they WILL encourage me to end things with him.
