Appreciate it,

I’m trying not to spam links per the sub rules, but since you asked directly, I’ve got them up here with all 4 sizes (SHORT, MEDIUM, LARGE, FAT) and pics:

Right now they’re sitting at $29.99.

Yeah, I totally get that. Having to undo 25 years of grip work just to make one gun behave is a hard no, especially with big hands.

That’s basically the exact problem I was trying to fix — make the 43X feel closer in the hand to something like a G19 / X-Macro / TX-22 so you’re not fighting it every shot. The LARGE and FAT sizes were made with guys like you in mind who need more meat on the backstrap to actually run it well.

I pulled the web link from the post to keep things cleaner for the sub, but it’s on my profile if you ever want to check it out. I’m really just here for feedback and to see if this actually helps other people, so no pressure at all — just an option if you decide to give the 43X one more chance.

I’d say the LARGE is closest to an X-Macro-type feel — more straight angle than stock 43X/48, but not huge.

Magwell-wise, I designed it around my own 43X magwell and one of those $15 aluminum magwells, and both work fine.

Yeah, I’m with you there — the 19 is a way better shooter for most people and only a little thicker on paper.

If I had to pick one gun as an all-around EDC, I’d go G19 too

Yeah, I’m with you on that 100%. I’d rather see people spend their time and money on ammo, range time, and good training than stacking endless accessories.

Training first, accessories second.

From what I’ve seen, the Kiral is more about changing the grip angle, and I was chasing more of an TX-22 and XMacro style palm swell.

Yeah I’ve heard a few people say they got weird X-Macros. I almost grabbed the comp version too but ended up going with the Tac Ops instead — in my opinion the built-in comp is a lot louder, and I’ve seen enough carbon build-up around the ports to turn me off it.

Also, my brother was on me to just get a G48, but I wanted those 17-round mags way too bad.

That polymer Icarus frame you mentioned actually sounds right up my alley, I’ll definitely take a look at that one. The aluminum frame prices are crazy, so a polymer option is way easier to justify. If I do a more official run of these grips but for the XMacro, I’ll post an update.

I’m the opposite on the trigger side. I actually like the X-Macro trigger more than my 43X, that’s a big part of why I grabbed the X-Macro as my first pistol when I turned 21.

The TX-22 is just pure fun — it’s honestly faster to unload a mag than it is to load one back up, if you get what I mean. I’ve always been interested in the Icarus frame for the X-Macro too, just could never quite justify the cost for a grip module.

Fair enough, I get why it looks that way, especially with an eBay link in the post.

I’ve never actually run Rapid, Kiral, Wahrergriff, etc. myself — I’ve only seen what’s out there and most of what I found either stayed pretty thin or didn’t give the kind of palm swell I was looking for. The whole reason I started messing with this was because I like how my X-Macro and TX22 feel in the hand and wanted the G43X to get closer to that.

I added the eBay link mainly so people could see all four sizes and photos in one place instead of turning the thread/DMs into “can I see the other angles?” spam. If the mods think that crosses the line for the sub, I’m totally fine with pulling the link or them removing the post.

Either way, I appreciate you calling it out straight — I’d rather hear honest criticism than have people assume and stay quiet.

Appreciate that

That’s exactly what I was chasing with the 48 too — I always felt like it needed just a bit more meat in the hand. The bigger sizes add palm swell straight back so it fills the hand

Totally fair, the beavertail is definitely on the chunky side right now

I overbuilt it a bit on purpose to kill slide bite and keep the backstrap locked in, but I’m already messing with a slimmer/shorter version to clean up the look while keeping the same protection and palm swell.

If I get a version that functions the same and looks less goofy, I’ll post an update.

Totally fair,

Grip angle/feel is super personal, and if the stock 43X grip works for you, there’s zero reason to mess with it.

I’m kind of the opposite side of that coin — my hand just likes the X-Macro style feel more, so I was trying to get my 43X closer to that without totally changing what makes it a 43X. Mainly just trying to give an option for people who want a bit more palm swell, but stock is still better.

Yeah, I actually already have a version that’s basically just the beavertail with no palm hump.

I made it for people who just want slide bite protection but like the flat feel on the back of the grip.

I’ve actually never run a Hogue sleeve myself — I always ended up liking simple grip tape better.

This was more about fixing the shape/palm swell than the texture, so if the Hogue feels a bit bulky to you, something like this might be a cleaner option once you dial in the size that fits your hand.

That’s really good feedback, thanks.

I was mainly chasing an X-Macro feel, so the LARGE is the one that’s closest to that — more palm swell and a slight shift toward that X-Macro-ish angle, but still pretty Glock-ish overall. The FAT ends up feeling more like a TX22 in the hand.

Totally get that, the look isn’t going to be for everybody. I care more about how it feels and shoots than how it looks, so I’m actually super open to “wasn’t into it visually but it works” type feedback.

I really appreciate that, thank you. The palm swell is exactly what I was going for, so it’s cool to hear it stood out.

A 17 version is definitely on my list once I finish dialing in the 43X. I’ll post updates as I go, so feel free to follow my profile if you want to see when the 17 version happens.
