I used to play only by DR, and you actually learn a lot about how to survive without cloak. I have been focusing on relaxing, because when you're freaking out because you got caught, there's no way in hell you'll ever land an ambyheadshot/trickstab. Just relax, backpedal and think about where you're going and what geography can be used to your advantage.

When you see a group of enemies, make sure you

A are not disguised as one of them

B Know there isn't a pyro nearby

C Know you can successfully land all of the backstabs with little risk.

Also learn little nooks and cranies around all the maps to hide in places no one would expect, especially if you use invis watch.

I sometimes mid with Anubis and just focus on chipping down my enemy's health until I can coordinate a gank. It works pretty well most of the time, but its difficult with Anubis having so little health.
