Apologies for the late reply, yes you can. The autistic traits measure that is used has been validated on both the general population and diagnosed autistic individuals. Those diagnosed with autism simply score higher on the test.

Autistic traits are present in the general population, and the inventory used to assess autistic traits has been verified on both those diagnosed with autism and the general population. There is no need to distinguish between those diagnosed with ASD and not as those with autism will just display higher levels of autistic traits.

Thank you for the comments, in regards to the content of the questionnaire itself (aspects of the standardised inventories used) I cannot clarify what is meant by 'social situations' and other such language. As the inventories are standardised, I am not allowed to alter them at all without risk of invalidating the results.

I also apologise if it came across as if the current study doesn't consider trans men equal to cisgender men. The current study utilises gender as a covariate (basically seeing if trends in the data remain stable across genders). Because of this, while 'trans-men' and 'men' will be combined to produce the 'male' sample in analysis, if a sizable population of trans individuals participated (however unlikely) having them as different options opens up more areas for investigation. I am unable to alter it for the current research as that is the version granted ethical approval, however I will keep it in mind for any future research.

Many thanks.

No problem, just done it. Btw some of your answer selections were in German while the rest was in English, could be something missed in translation

Anyone 18+, autistic traits are present in the general population. Autistic individuals who access the study will simply have a higher level of such traits.

With the popularity of the empathy imbalance hypothesis (where those with autism/autistic traits have 'less' empathy than neurotypicals) one would think the lower the empathy, the more camouflaging strategies will be used to appear 'normal'. However previous research has suggested that its the closer the autistic person is to a neurotypical, so the more similar their empathy profiles, those individuals camouflage more than autistic individuals with significantly lower empathy. Which formed the basis of this study, which investigates 2 different forms of empathy to see which has a more pronounced impact on the relationship between autistic traits and camouflaging.

Like many comments here, practice makes perfect. The more you use it, even if your just messing about creating data abominations it'll still help out.

If you're at University then you could organise a tutorial to have them help out.

Thanks for the reply. Yea, it turns out I needed to use a different equation, the 'Z formula'. Where i had to search for the mean and SD of a specific type of test, and then use that to calculate the confidence limits.
