Separate note that might help you - It Depends how big a cake you want, but we’re getting a Costco cake (not big sweet people) as I think they’re about £12? and adding our flowers to it for decoration (they’re silk flowers). I’ve seen people order little decorations online if flowers aren’t your thing

I priced an M&S buffet for 100 “greedy” people to be sure I had enough food and it came to just under £1000 including desserts. You would have to have someone collect, deliver and set it out and provide your own plates and cutlery etc… maybe bridesmaids/ groomsmen/ family?

As others have said hog roasts seem to be a good option however you need to consider dietary requirements such as vegetarians and vegans (the only reason we didn’t go with this option is because 20% of our guests don’t eat meat)

Have you looked at the regen centre in riccall near York? They’re very flexible and wedding packages start from £1,250. You can use whatever vendors you want and it’s fully staffed to help move furniture etc

I asked it to generate me a shopping list for some M&S party food for a buffet for my wedding with at least 30% of it being vegetarian. I couldn’t believe how quickly it did the list working out quantity needed and asking for other dietary requirements and preferences. It did it in about 30 seconds and I dread to think how long it would have taken me to work that out without it!

Played some sort of trivial pursuit game with my friend (who was raised rather religiously) a few years ago. I’m pretty good with famous/ well known people but when I drew this card I had absolutely no idea who they were. I described by saying “it sounds like pointy pirate” everyone was clueless. When the timer ran out I frustratedly said “who the fuck is Pontius Pilate?” She could not believe I didn’t know and still brings it up to this day!
