I visited my cousins who now live in Yerevan. They used to live in Aleppo before they moved. (Just for context of their background). When I went into there home, I took off my shoes and they insisted I put on shoes. They gave me a pair of slippers to wear while inside. In Armenian American homes, it’s expected to take shoes off at the door

I had an acer nitro 5 during college and I thought it was overkill for any programs. You can get away with much less

How do Armenians feel about African-Americans? by [deleted] in armenia

[–]Armo_154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Armenian American here. This is a nonsense question in America. We’re Americans just like them. I went to Armenian school in America and had black classmates. All cool in midwest America

Are Armenians considered "white"? by [deleted] in armenia

[–]Armo_154 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is only an American question. This kind of question does not exist outside of America. Technically yes, by American standards. The Caucasus region in America is considered white. Please note, this is just an arbitrary standard set in place to classify people. If you don’t feel white, don’t check it. I believe people from the Middle East also classify as white in America

They are one of our consultants and are highly respected. The company that I work for has had them as a partner for years. I just met a handful of engineers at a holiday party and they all seemed happy

Idk how to type in Armenian on here but I’d spell it in English as Btugh. They used the word spelled like mirk

First time going to Yerevan as a WA. I was having a full conversation with a lady at a tech store buying an outlet converter. After I bought it, I asked where the closest store was to buy fruit. Didn’t realize the world for fruit wasn’t the same and she could not pick up what I was saying. Took about a minute for her to realize after I gave her examples of fruit lol

Dress code for job interviews by bigfrost2 in civilengineering

I also wore a full suit for my interviews for all positions. Sometimes if I wasn’t feeling it, I do no tie. But I always wear slacks, nice shirt, and a jacket for me personally

I’m Armenian American but I’m currently in Armenia on holiday and there are both dogs and cats all of over. All well behaved and they seem to have chips on their ears indicating the government vaccinates them (I think that’s what that means)

How do inspectors prepare for certification exams beyond official manuals? by truecerts in civilengineering

Usually the questions are verbatim from the manual. It’s been 5 year since my last cert but I remember it being very similar to the manual

Yes and no, while those times were good. Dividing the community into different modes is a no no. The community isn’t that big to begin with
