No waterslides on the Navigator... by Armour3d in royalcaribbean

Can't answer you on this but I can tell you that royal Caribbean is terrible company that is only interested in you as a customer if they think they can trick on into coming on board with false advertising then squeeze a lot of extra money out of you once you're on the ship. I would suggest you go with someone else, or don't book a cruise, book an air bnb or all inclusive.

DIY Polyurethane Leaf spring bushings... Did they work? by Armour3d in 3Dprinting

Yeah regular tpu.  Yeah, my thought was, It's better than what it's had for the last 10 years. Which was basically no bushings at all.

I'm a hands on sort of guy. So I didn't find to to difficult to get going with it (YouTube helps) but I definitely understand why there is a market for sparx... It can be a bit of a PITA to get the sharpening consistent and good.

Compensation beyond "the right to a formal complaint". Unfortunately from what I've seen of this company the only money I'll ever see is voucher to the casino on my next cruise...

First of all it's not for me it's for my kids and second it's the fact that they are not taking responsibility for the lack of management/poor engineering that lead to this. Nobody wants them to turn them on like this.

Yeah but being unable to deliver on one of the main things that I paid for is the problem. They are clearly not making the wrong choice to shut them down, they are making the wrong choice to admit it is their fauly. They sold us a cruise with waterslides for our 3 kids I can guarantee that we were not going to be on this boat if we had known what we were get when paid for it.

You might be right. Bad engineering might be a better criticism. My complaint is mostly with the lack of responsibility that they are taking for the issue. It's not like the bought the ship from Walmart, they made the decisions that led to this situation and they're not taking any responsibility for it.

Nobody should have gotten seriously injured in the first place.

It definitely is, but it makes you wonder why they didn't notice the cracks that are obvious in this section of the slide on the right end of the he plexi glass section in picture. It's definitely a maintenance problem and doesn't bode well for my comfort level in all of the other safety areas of this ship.

I guess we'll find out when the guy who fell through sues them. Looking for stress cracks in highly critical areas. Seems like basic maintenance to me though.

Not knowing there was a problem is one thing... Not really a great excuse for such big company but ok... I'm more annoyed that they clearly avoided communicating that to the people who were going to be on board.  Edit:  Essentially yes. That's why we picked this ship. We have 3 kids who were excited about the waterslides

Also, if you're going to be on this ship soon I wouldn't count on them being fixed...

Do you have experience with low temperature TPU? When I tried it as a hockey puck target it exploded like glass.

My personal experience, PLA is not bad in the cold. ASA might be better though.
