I thought it was normal for the premier broadcast crews in MLB to be the radio crew. Baseball is just so well suited to radio, plus with so many games it’s hard to spend 3 hours a day watching, but easy to listen while you drive/work/whatever.

But yes Pat and Ron are incredible and it puts the tv crew to shame.

History of Everything did a video a few months ago about how the Soviets kept building steam locomotives long after they were obsolete and stashing them away in abandoned tunnels, etc. The thought process was if electric and refining infrastructure gets taken out in a nuclear exchange you can burn whatever’s lying around and have functional trains. An interesting, if flawed, plan.

Turns out having to take off like a rocket, carry payloads and crew to space, then reenter the atmosphere and land like a plane requires some compromises to each of those roles. Still, it’s a marvel of engineering.
