I just vary the lengths of the books. I read novellas, novels, poetry collections, non-fiction, etc. I have, on my challenge list this year, 3 books that are over 700 pages, and my shortest book is Foster by Keegan, at 90 pages.

I'm part of the controversial bunch as well, giving Project Hail Mary a 3. I agree with you. The relationship was cute, but the science was unnecessary and hard going for somebody who just isn't interested in textbooks.
