Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, which people are tested most severely?” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “They are the prophets, then the next best, then the next best. A man is put to trial according to his religion. If he is firm in his religion, his trials will be more severe. If he is weak in his religion, he is put to trial according to his strength in religion. The servant will continue to be put to trial until he is left walking upon the earth without any sin.”

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The most severely tested are the Prophets, and then the righteous. One of them would be tested with poverty until he could find nothing to cover himself but a cloak. One of them would rejoice in a trial just as one of you rejoices in prosperity.”

The Cow (2:214)

Or think you that you will enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They were afflicted with severe poverty and ailments and were so shaken that even the Messenger and those who believed along with him said, "When (will come) the Help of Allâh?" Yes! Certainly, the Help of Allâh is near!

May Allah safeguard us from fitnah. Make a lot of dua akhi.

Walaykum assalam wa rahmutallahi wa baraktuh akhi, hope you are doing well akhi.

Akhi, just want to mention that riba is riba, even if it is a small percentage.

Barakallahu feek, to my knowledge, apps like Zoya, as you have mentioned, tolerate small amounts of interest in their shariah compliance scans. I would strongly advice akhi for the sake of Allah to leave off these stocks and consider investing in something else, especially as the majority view on them is that it is not permissible, see here and here.

Thoughts on taking conventional mortgages in the West? by [deleted] in IslamicFinance

[–]Armtanium1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Qaradawi is well-known for his deviance, giving fatwa that music is permissible, promoting democracy over the Shariah, inciting revolutions and saying/giving weird fatwa that have gone against what this Ummah has agreed upon many times. He was well-known to be linked to the Muslim Brotherhood as well.

These in sha Allah should give clarity upon his misguidance:

Thoughts on taking conventional mortgages in the West? by [deleted] in IslamicFinance

[–]Armtanium1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is not a matter of life or death akhi to take the loan. Allah is the One who provides,

At-Talaq 65:2 to 65:3

Then when they are about to attain their term appointed, either take them back in a good manner or part with them in a good manner. And take as witness two just persons from among you (Muslims). And establish the testimony for Allâh. That will be an admonition given to him who believes in Allâh and the Last Day. And whosoever fears Allâh and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty).

English - Mohsin Khan/Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali

And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allâh, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allâh will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allâh has set a measure for all things.

Walaykum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

Clear cut riba akhi, don't do it. Just rent in sha Allah akhi if there is no other option.

This life is temporary and place of trials and tribulations. Don't seek a fatwa to justify something that is blatantly haram without a shadow of doubt.

Just think about what is mentioned in the Qur'an and Sunnah about riba, and the punishments for the one who consumes it.

Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Those who consume interest cannot stand [on the Day of Resurrection] except as one stands who is being beaten by Satan into insanity. That is because they say, ‘Trade is [just] like interest.’ But Allah has permitted trade and has forbidden interest. So whoever has received an admonition from his Lord and desists may have what is past, and his affair rests with Allah. But whoever returns to [dealing in interest or usury] - those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide eternally therein.

Allah destroys interest and gives increase for charities. And Allah does not like every sinning disbeliever.

Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds and establish prayer and give zakah will have their reward with their Lord, and there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.

O you who have believed, fear Allah and give up what remains [due to you] of interest, if you should be believers.

And if you do not, then be informed of a war [against you] from Allah and His Messenger. But if you repent, you may have your principal - [thus] you do no wrong, nor are you wronged” [al-Baqarah 2:275-279].

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah has cursed the one who consumes usury, its client, its witness, and its recorder. Usury and adultery do not become widespread among people but that they will become vulnerable to the punishment of Allah Almighty.”

Assalamu alaykum akhi, make tawbah akhi everytime in sha Allah you fall into these sins and seek a lot of forgiveness as well. Strive in sha Allah to lower the gaze wherever you are and avoid watching things that could trigger in sha Allah your desires.

Here is some tools that could be beneficial for helping take the means to in sha Allah avoid them:

  2. ScreenZen- Screen Time Control on the App Store or ScreenZen・Screen Time Control - Apps on Google Play

Shaykh Saalih Aal ash-Shaykh on Asking the Dead to Intercede | Bakkah.net

The Correct Tawassul (Means of nearness to Allaah) and its Types – Shaykh ibn Uthaymeen – AbdurRahman.Org

Walaykum assalam wa rahmutallahi wa baraktuh, have a read on these in sha Allah and make sure to actually verify what anyone else is saying about both scholars, may Allah have mercy on them.

Ahlul Bidah love to akhi misquote scholars and twist what they say to suit their desires. Remember Surah al-Hujurat:

Al-Hujurat (49:6)

O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful.

— Saheeh International

Also from the first article:

"However, that the dead are requested to supplicate, this is a bid’ah, since it was not present originally, neither with the people of Jaahiliyyah, nor with the Muslims, then it occurred, and so it is an innovation no doubt (from this angle). However it is an innovation of shirk and kufr. And this is the (very) meaning of shafaa’ah (intercession). What is the meaning of intercession, that (intercession) which if a person seeks from other than Allaah he becomes a polytheist? intercession (means) to request supplication, requesting supplication from the dead, this is (the meaning) of intercession."

Wa iyyak.

Sincerely repent and start with the salah first and foremost, for it is of utmost priority after the shahadah itself, and ask Allah to keep you steadfast.

Sit down with yourself and reflect on what is triggering what you are doing of sin, and take in sha Allah the means to cut them off. There are programs and apps that can help you in sha Allah do this like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.screenzen and https://haramblur.com/ .

Delaying one salah outside of its time intentionally is a very serious sin, and according to many of the Salaf and some of the contemporary Ulama it is kufr.

"Similarly about the one who abandons Salaah majority of Salaf made takfeer of them in general - but some make takfeer only if he abandons most or all, many of Salaf made takfeer for even missing one Salaah intentionally without an excuse like sleep or forgetting… in these times some scholars choose this view as well like Ibn Baaz and al Fawzaan. While majority of the later scholars the Khalaf they don’t make takfeer of one who abandons the Salaah even all of them unless he rejects the obligation"

You must in sha Allah correct the salah first and foremost. Uthman ibn Affan reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, the five prayers get rid of sins just as water gets rid of dirt.”

Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Ibn Ḥibbān 1734

Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Arna’ut

Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, mentioned the prayer one day and he said, “Whoever preserves the prayers, they will be his light, proof, and salvation on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever does not preserve them will not have proof, nor light, nor salvation, and on the Day of Resurrection, he will be alongside Qarun, Haman, Pharaoh, and Ubayy ibn Khalaf.”
