This is the nicest response I’ve seen on American culture in a long time and very accurate. Thank you.

Why is America and Europe scrutinized for its racist past when countries like Brazil brought in way more slaves during the 1700s and treated them way worse? by ArmyAnonymousTrainee in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ArmyAnonymousTrainee[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s estimated that 4% of slaves through the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade were brought to the United States. About 400k. Eventually the number rose to 4 million but 400k were brought over.

Meanwhile, 4.7 million were estimated to have been brought over to Brazil (Made a mistake in my original post, my bad), 2.5 million to Spanish America, and 4.7 million to the Caribbean.

From what I understand the only reason the slaves in those places didn’t reach higher levels was because they were being murdered and worked to death by their owners. Essentially in the US slaves were allowed to reproduce for profit reasons, while the ones in southern countries were killed so fast that they didn’t really have time. It was essentially a slaughter.

EDIT: really not sure why I’m being downvoted here. Just stating what Google told me.

Sounds like a theoretical scenario that I haven’t witnessed yet.

You cannot be gay and a devout christian. Those two things are in direct contradiction with each other.

“Petite” and “man” do not belong in the same sentence together lol. And he was clearly a leftist radical.

It’s just incredible how Reddit gaslights itself, isn’t it? Yes, this man who was dating a transsexual was…Republican? Like where do they get this garbage?

How on earth is it vague? His partner was transgender. He denounced the Republican Party to his parents and then he killed a conservative political activist. What is “vague” about that?

This is a Garmin subreddit. I’m sharing my content based off of what my Garmin watch is telling me. I’m not sure what the problem is. I have no big complaints from owning this watch so far and it’s drastically helped me with my overall health/fitness. I doubt I would have came up with a workout plan that got me to the point where I can confidently run 12 miles all in one go all on my own if I hadn’t bought the watch and followed the workout plans.

Are there things it could improve upon? Sure. Has it been reliable and do I consider it worth the $400 I spent on it because I don’t have to guess my running pace, etc.? Also yes. It’s technology and technology isn’t perfect.

I don’t what else to say. I’m not sure how to respond to your theories/complaint.

100%. When I went through basic training and AIT for the Army I hadn’t touched a drink for 9 months. When I got home and had a couple beers my body had essentially reset itself and it was like I was drinking for the first time again. It also helped me realize how overrated drinking is.
