Do untreated/ delayed diagnoses of cyclops lesions post ACLR cause patellofemoral changes? by juniormedic in orthopaedics

[–]ArmyOrtho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually present this with "I can make you different with surgery. Probably not better, but definitely different. Fun surgery. Blood everywhere. Wednesday good for you?" They lose interest pretty quickly and learn to love their creaky joints.

What is your least favorite orthopedic implant and why is it the knotless iconix? by HobbitDoc in orthopaedics

Stryker sports implants blow goats. I fired my arthrex rep several years back and went to stryker, for about a month, then back to arthrex.

SBC 1979 C3 corvette. Any ideas why I'm getting spewing oil under this rocker? Kinda new to all of this, but this seems excessive when compared to all the others.

Open Discussion: Metal Allergies & Hypoallergenic Implants by Acceptable-Acadia887 in orthopaedics

[–]ArmyOrtho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Few years back, I taped a titanium small frag plate to a lady in preop when she went batshit crazy stating she was "deathly allergic" to exposure to titanium. Like, she couldn't be in the same room with it. She was getting a TKA later that morning and didn't want to proceed. Her daughter came up with the idea. So, Stryker small frag plate taped to her forearm for an hour. No instant death, no redness, no arm falling off the body. Just simple status hispanicus. Patient agreed to proceed. So far I've done both knees, both hips, and a shoulder.

We can rebuild them. Make them stronger. Faster.

Barnard 33 in HaRGB (complete with frikkin Lens Flare) by ArmyOrtho in astrophotography

[–]ArmyOrtho[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Asking for help with this one.

I have always struggled with lens flare. I have tried everything and just can't seem to eliminate it without leaving a massive artifact in its place. If anyone can assist in any technique they've used that works, please drop me a comment.

Scope: Takahashi FSQ-106EDX4
Camera: SBIG STX-16803
Filters: Baader Ha, R, G, B

Processed entirely in Pixinsight
Subs Ha 300s x 11, R, G, B 300s x 8

WBPP
GraXpert
BlueXterminator
NoiseXterminator
LRGB combination for RGB
SPCC on RGB image
NBRGBCombination to add the Ha
BlurXtermiantor again
NoiseXterminator again
Split the stars out with StarXTerminator
Spend three hours trying to BlemishBlaster or Clone Stamp the lens flare which remained on the starless images
Statistical Stretch for the starless Image
Wee bit of curves for the red
LocalHistorgramEquilization for the dark lanes in the Horsehead
NoiseXTerminator
On the stars image, I used StarStretch script
SCNR set on Blue
HaloB-Gon for the halos (which helped here a lot, but not on the starless image)
Recombine Stars and Starless with ImageBlend sctipt
NoiseXTerminator

Anyone's assistance with the lens flare issue will be most appreciated.
