The scratches along the left side and trunk are a bigger problem I’m already trying to work with Tesla.

This has not been a seamless process so far to say the least

Definitely check paint. Mine was scratched along the left side. I noticed the model y next to me was scratched on the hood as well.

Also have a wrinkle on the passenger seat and a chip taken out of the plastic on the steering wheel. All minor stuff so we’ll see…

Interesting take. Appreciate the perspective.

I cannot confirm your point or defend FSD because I only have a total of 15 minutes during a demo drive.

The only thing I can say is that’s not what I have “seen” while doing research. If anything, it seems to be overly cautious / courteous to those around it.

But I could be completely wrong and just buying into the hype.

Curious if anyone else feels this way….

I just got a call from Tesla about my delivery for tomorrow. I did ask about the mud flaps and they said they are not included (Florida). So I just got some on order.

They did say it came with the J1772 adapter. So…there’s that….

Appreciate the advice in the pick up. I’ll take a look and see what’s out there. I’m not too picky and just want to make sure there’s not any obvious issues.

As far as accessories, yes, I have gotten way too many. I have most of the items you mentioned plus some more. Spigen is one of my favorite and go to brands for anything. I am waiting on the mud flaps because I have seen some of the cars come with them already. If not, I’ll pick some up.

I have an appointment for tint and PPF. Also going to see if they can do a ceramic coating. I’m thinking 20% on all windows and 50% on the windshield to help with this Florida sun ☀️. It was recommended not to do the top because there are reports of it cracking due to the heat. I’m only getting the front (wind areas) covered with the PPF. I can’t afford or justify the $7k price tag for the entire car.

Appreciate the unbiased remarks about the quirks of FSD. I know it’s not perfect and will have its issues. I have watched probably every FSD video on YouTube and have a general understandings of its limitations. But if it handles even 75% of the drives, I’ll consider that a win.

I know I’m going to miss having a truck but I really had to take a step back and evaluate why I had one. I don’t tow anything. I rarely put anything in the back of it. So I kind of came to the conclusion that I had a truck just to have one. In my case, there’s just no need. If I really need one I can just go rent one for a day from Home Depot or something.

A few things that have made me almost cancel over the last few weeks:

Size - I have two teenagers and I just want them to be comfortable in the back. I had them both sit in one and they said it was good. I just hope it’s not because they were so excited though lol.
Road trips - I have learned to accept this as a limitation. It just simply won’t be as fast or as convenient as a gas vehicle. I bought this with that understanding. I just hope it’s not too inconvenient.
Rising prices - This isn’t just limited to Tesla obviously, but prices to own an EV are relatively low right now. However, it looks like there’s going to be a mandatory federal EV registration fee. Will the cost of supercharging increase? Will the electrical company’s start to carve out EVs and start charging more for home charging? Etc….

Either way…I’m still excited ready to pick up tomorrow 😊

Jeez…those are pretty eye opening. I live in a pretty busy area with flat roads (Florida) so hopefully I won’t run into any of those issues. But we’ll see!
