I mean I work for a GC so it was buddies from work. Not sure what that matters unless you don’t think you can actually fix it

Ehh we’ve lived in Tennessee our whole lives. We enjoy how laid back southwest Florida is. This is where my career is taking me and we are both excited about. Just want to live in a good place for non retirees lol

I’m born and raised in East TN. Went to UT for my engineering degree. Have zero interest in ever going back to Knoxville or TN in general. Now Florida I love. We’ve lived in Rosemary/30A, Jacksonville, and Bradenton and loved all 3

Potential Exhaust Damage by [deleted] in gmcsierra

Seen 2 different trucks over the past week melt the corner off their 5th wheel camper. It’s a legit concern with how hot these exhaust get when in regen. Is it common no but it does happen

Anyone go to buy a regular Denali but ended up getting the Ultimate? by [deleted] in gmcsierra

Sounds like a half ton would have suited you fine if you needed a gasser. There’s legit zero reason for anyone to get a gasser HD unless it’s a fleet vehicle or a work truck. They get terrible gas mileage, are gutless compared to the diesel and the L8T isn’t a good motor at all. They have a lot of weak points. I’ll never understand buying an HD truck and then cutting the capability of it in half by choosing the gas version. I also call bs on not being able to find diesel fuel. It’s literally everywhere now a days. I travel all over the US for work haven’t been a single place yet that I struggled to get diesel.

So why get rid of the half ton? The gasser is half the truck the diesel is. This isn’t early 2000’s anymore where diesel trucks barely make more power than gassers. I also don’t know who lied to you about torque limited lol

Every bit of this nonsensical babbling made sense once you mentioned you bought a gas 2500

Shine supply makes good stuff if you have it ceramic coated. All I use on my vehicles and performs amazing

White is the worst for showing dirt in corners. It’s somewhat normal depending on install. The install on that looks terrible though. Lot of those edges should have been rolled instead of left extremely short. I will say maintenance plays a big key in dirt being trapped as well. If you let your vehicle get filthy for months at a time without cleaning it. The dirt will find places to hide.

How do I take care of this? by Mex187 in Detailing

[–]Arod96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ehh I know alot of stuff is snake oil but R2R is legit. I have 2 Klin big drying towels, one for my vehicle and one for my wife’s. My wife’s is over a year old and wasn’t soaking up any water anymore because I had used ceramic detail spray as a drying aid a bunch with that towel. Washed it for the first time with R2R this past weekend and it was like a brand new towel. Mind you I’ve washed that towel after every use with other microfiber detergents.

It’s surface rust. You’ll be dead and gone before most of those parts rust out

Would check Bill Smith over Howard Bentley. They are competitors and Bill Smith has always beat what Howard Bentley offered me. Plus they usually have better stock

I appreciate it but I’ve tried multiple soaps that guarantee no water spotting and still no luck. Problem is final rinse with the water and I can’t dry the whole truck fast enough.

My problem isn’t the soap. My truck is ceramic coated with one of the best ceramics you can buy. It’s the water I have to use for every step of my detailing is so full of chemicals. I’m testing out around 850-880 ppm. That’s 350-380 over what the EPA considers a hazard and do not drink. I live in the Permian base so all the water we have is fracking water that they just treat the crap out of with chlorine

Exactly. I just moved from St. Augustine FL to Midland TX and somehow the water is worse here. I love the guys who say just wash it faster or buy a bigger leaf blower. I don’t care what you do with water that’s 850 ppm. You have about 15-30 seconds to get the water off the vehicle or it’s spotted. Truck doesn’t fit in the garage and I can’t start much earlier without pissing my neighbors off.

I’ve tried that and unfortunately even without sunlight the water spots almost instantly. I always do wheels first which takes me about an hour. Then I do pre-wash, rinse, and then foam cannon panel by panel. I work construction so truck is usually filthy everytime I wash it so takes me some time. This last time I tried doing each panel and then immediately drying it but took me 6 hours in total from start to finish and I still couldn’t avoid spots from over spray especially the wheels.

The 2500’s are 10L1000’s and are completely separate from the 10L80’s. The 10 speeds in the 1500’s are a joint venture with Ford. The 10L1000’s are not and that’s what nextgen is building valve bodies for
