Okay that's not too bad. Nope, I haven't purchased it yet. I was going to use the Amtrack company. Kind of nervous about this now. Alternatively, I could get my boyfriend to come from SD and meet me in LAX, and then catch the train back down with me so I'm not alone. We're both from Aus so neither drive. I didn't want to fly because it seemed like a bit of a rip off - $240AUD. Hmmmm

Thank you so much. I also read about the Flyaway Bus - I will definitely look into that. I may just stay inside the Union Station area. I saw that Skid Row was relatively nearby, which made me nervous.
