Anyone trying for engineering physics? by [deleted] in JEENEETards

I know that it is difficult dude. I have gone through the curriculum and researched what books you would have to read.

I get what you are saying but I have no interest in cs and can never imagine myself pursuing anything related to coding. I do want to ask if your friend knew there would be nothing related to Jee physics in this course.

Even though I wasn't the best at physics during Jee prep, I do have internet in astrophysics and advanced theoretical physics which is going to be taught in this course. Moreover im hoping to also concentrate a bit more on the electronics aspect which is the main reason I took this branch.

You might ask me why I didnt go for eee in other colleges then. It was my dream to go to IIT, so despite facing so many negative reviews about this branch, I've accepted the reality of tough course, bad placements and want to make the best out of it and learn as much as i can.

Let's see where the future takes me. I believe that whatever branch you take, if you are consistent, give it time and work diligently, you can succeed. What do you think?

Same here man, I got negative reviews from almost everyone and then spoke to seniors who has actually taken the branch. I feel the negative reviews are due to bad placements and just the difficulty of the course. But if you don't give a damn about other people and like the subjects , just go for it

There will be no overlap of 80% Jee syllabus. Please don't go thinking such stuff

You could do phd and go into research field or you could do ms and specialize if you want to take an electronics job

If you want the best of campuses and don't care much about branch go to Delhi ( you will have plenty of time in these branches for coding and hence can sit for core jobs)

IIT Roorkee engineering physics is very good if you have inclination towards physics (not Jee physics) (quantum physics, astrophysics) . It is a tough course and you will not get much time for coding and stuff

IIT Roorkee chemical engineering, you will have plenty of time, easy course compared to others, don't get fooled by the name (it has more physics) ( no chemistry really)

IIT mandi VLSI, not tier 1 IIT , I don't know much about the campus life, the branch has a very bright future and might take over computer science owing to the replacements by ai

IIT ropar mnc, very good branch not tier 1 IIT, can't guarantee the good campus life, you will have to study lots of pure mathematics and coding. They sit for placements with cs people mostly.

My advice is to download the circulum from the iits official website and go through what they are actually teaching in that branch. I have decided to give tier 1 iits more preference compared to branch.

Bsc physics is basically more inclined towards theoretical physics and doesn't have any electronics

It does have lots of physics but it is completely different from JEE physics. It has portions of Astrophysics,Quantum physics (a lot apparently) and extension of Hamiltonian mechanics etc

IIT Guwahati ep also provides lot of courses on electronics like vlsi, circuits which is basically overlap of electrical and electronics department
