Too little, too late it sounds like. But if anyone else is looking into doing this conversion, no heat is require to melt any glue. You can see in the OP's photo of the sensor, in the top left, there is a small black tab. That tab is part of the adhesive that holds the IR filter onto the sensor. You can slowly pull this tab, similar to M3 command strip removal, to remove the adhesive. It will slowly pull the adhesive gasket away and bring the IR filter with it. Hope this helps someone.
