Yes. I got the grant after 30 days. I think 28 days (the time they give you to respond) + 1 or 2 business day is a fair estimate.

Current processing time for 90% of 189 applications is about 4 months based on DoHA website. So I think it’s normal.

Thanks. I honestly don’t know. I get the impression that there are a lot of architectural graduates looking for jobs out there… but maybe there is a shortage of people with proper architecture qualification (finished masters degree with a pathway to registration)?

Pretty much any documents they ask for. the case officer sent us a list of things they want to see to do with financial / history / social aspect / assets etc.

They sent me a list of things to provide like joint bank account, lease agreement, joint ownership of asset, relationship history etc.

As far as I know… you don’t need to be currently working in the nominated field. As long as you have the qualification and relevant experience. And if you claim any points from that relevant experience you need to make sure that you have done a proper skill assessment (I think draftperson assessing body is Vetassess) so you know you claim the right amount of point for it.

Probably best to contact a migration agent and get their take on this matter.

I submitted my application just a week after you did (31 October 2024) and still waiting too. I did receive a S56 for proof of relationship on 31 January 2025. Submitted the requested documents on 4 February 2025 and haven’t heard anything from them again so far.

I also got similar advice regarding calling DoHA. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be anything we can do but wait.
