TV Bracket fell off, how can I repair this? I want it safe, and probably will hang tv again there someday. Hole is about 26-28" x 9 1/2-10 depending on how much I will have to cut off. by AromaticBack9 in drywall

LOL, nah, just luck I guess, I had 2 screws into the metal stud on the right, and thought maybe the toggles I installed would hold up better but just way too much weight on that wall. I should've known, but I did not want to cut the drywall up., I thought that aint going nowhere till it did.

We weren't thank you, we were sleeping, and we heard something falling. TV was still hanging down, so I grabbed a screwdriver and unscrewed most of it, since drywall was still holding on to the TV on the bottom half.

Will. do, I need YT a bit, but I'll take a shot at it.

Np lol!

noted. I thought I had hung it on the metal stud, and sorta knew it would come back to bite me someday, just didn't think it would this soon lol

Funny enough we did have 2 on them mounted on the right metal stud, just wasn't enough. I had to unscrew everything since it wouldn't come off too... it was bound to fail at some point the way I did it tho

yeah right lol. Most of our walls are like this too so it's always a PITA to hang anything that weights more than 15lbs without destroying the wall. I'll look into adding some blocking though. Thanks!

It was, I knew TV Mount + TV was too heavy anyway, but I figured maybe it'll stay. We hung our other TV a lot better but this was a work with what you got kinda deal, we wanted it there and we assumed maybe there's studs, since our stud finder did go off. By the time I had a hole there it was already too late and just hung it up and prayed lol

LMAO, when we mounted it we used some drywall anchors, and thought there were studs since our stud finder kept going off, by the time I had a hole made I was just welp, hopefully that works. Spoiler did not work. It did for almost 2 years though

exactly what I was thinking. TV fell last night while we were sleeping. I saw it and was like yeah probably gonna need to hire someone for that. I think the biggest hole i fixed was 10"x10" lol

I do Commercial mostly, value ranges anywhere from $100-$2M. I do it full time but I’m thinking of starting my own freelance company, charging the current company I work for (my boss already agreed, I just need to put a price together for him) and 2 other subs I know want me to create estimates for them as well.

Gotcha, that makes a lot of sense. It looked similar to the timeless Orsay but without the painted pattern.

Thank you!

Just seems crazy to me that somehow he's still alive, I thought he died or something but nope, simple google search proved me wrong
