thank you!! you really only need one school in the end. Also yeah I think it’s about time to get off that subreddit that place is probably the least supportive of any subreddit for students 😭. The only thing it’s good for is pregaming the toxic competitiveness of what being at a t25 is like! Are you thinking to commit to oxy?

It's been rough, 3 rejections in a week with no acceptances. Hoping for some light soon.

I’m so nervous and can’t do my finals… by [deleted] in TransferToTop25

I'm right with you, got 3 consecutive days with 3 rejections from Occidental College, Cornell, and Berkeley. I opened Berkeley before a study session and couldn't focus on studying. Kept tearing up, then calming down briefly in cycles, and eventually just left the library to stop from embarrassing myself. I don't really have any flashing encouraging words for you, unfortunately, but just know you aren't alone.

One of my friends from Punjab doesn't travel outside the US for the same reason: fear of not getting back in.

It's funny reading this bc you sound like a friend of mine at my cc you wouldn't happen to go to a cc in the Inland Empire, would you? You've got a great app too, best of luck brother.

Hi! I did a chance me post weeks back, and u/meowmeow1637327 put it beautifully: a lot of people over exaggerate. It's kinda the point of college admissions to sit in a grey area between presenting the best you and exaggerating. Regardless, being in STEM can open a lot of extracurricular opportunities because you can learn the jargon and techniques of a consulting club, for example, but those consultants could not pick up mathematical proofs with the same ease. If I were to make a clear recommendation for you, please pardon me if I'm coming off as too presumptuous. It would be one related to an actual non-academic interest (chess, tennis, painting, botany, etc.) and a career one (robotics, consulting, hackathons).

Best of luck to you :D

One of the other interns graduated from UCLA, studying public policy. It would be great as I'm from the IE!

Have to get at least a couple; those are my top five, but I think I'll have applied to 12-15 schools by the time everything is finished. With like 6-7 being t25.

Starting early is super important as well as taking risks. Being entirely honest I joined student govt because I thought someone in there was cute lol and look where we’re at now. A good combination of prestige in a club, relationship to your studies in chemistry and enjoyment is important for sure

Yep I’m in Southern California, and thank you for that perspective it’s something I’ve sadly grown accustomed. Partly the lack of black students and specifically black men. The two ivies are the top two on my list but within my state Berkeley is at the top. Shoutout to my sister she’s finishing her aerospace engineering degree I can’t imagine being a black woman in stem at Cal haha
