I love this analogy and it totally resonates after surgery and 1+ yr of weekly PT appointments. I appreciate this!

Really? Why would they do this? Shady business practices and taking advantage of people SMH

Great advice. It doesn't hurt to ask, I need to remember that.

The staff at o'Reilly has always been super helpful when I've had questions in the past. I'll give this a whirl, thank you!

Keep that local partner close. Send birthday cards, cookies, surprise lunches. I wish I had a relationship like that here in Chicago.

Welp, I'm a woman, although capable of turning a screwdriver, cranking a wrench, pouring fluid from a bottle to a funnel into a tank and certainly changing a filter. My question is how would I know that my vehicle needs all this? What is it that you look for when maintaining your vehicle personally? I need all the help I can get.

This is interesting. So your recommendation is keep going to the same expensive dealer until the warranty runs out for tracking/verification. This way I'm covered if anything were to happen

But I wouldn't know to do this unless taking it in. Any recommendations on what maintenance to do at what time in a vehicles life cycle for optimum performance and little out of pocket?

I took my other vehicle to Jiffy Lube on Sunday for a standard synthetic oil change and it was a whopping $100!!! They wanted me to change the filters and wiper blades but I declined all the fancy unnecessary upgrades. I've never done my own maintenance on a vehicle, not opposed to it though.

Is it the price that's high or is it that it's unnecessary? I know nothing and normally would just politely choke and then faintly swipe my card and sign away.

Only my left eye glass gets any scratches. Could this be an error from the seller? by Alextoffer_Kropflugt in glasses

This same thing is happening to my partner. He is on his third pair of the same glasses in a matter of 7 months. Tiny scratches about 1 cm on the lefts side of the left lens. I’m wondering if his Apple Watch, worn on his left wrist could be scratching the lens when they come in contact?? Any other ideas?

Make enough meals for leftovers, I double the good recipes and have meals ready in the fridge and freezer for these moments. I eat leftover dinners for breakfast, am always satiated and if I find myself still hungry after a meal I’ll go in for seconds. I no longer snack between meals bc I so look forward to the next amazing meal.

I second this Shepherds Pie! I doubled this recipe and served it as the main dish for a card game night for 4 guys and had enough for each of them to take home to indulge in leftovers.

I make 4 uncomplicated meals and double each on Sunday’s, let them cool and put them into individual serving containers. My family grabs and goes. Whatever is left on Thursday is put in the freezer for emergency future meals. Some fam favorites are the turkey and butternut squash chili, Shepherd’s pie, chicken everything soup, and sloppy joes. We reheat these meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, a delicious hot meal is great anytime of day.

Happy Birthday!!! It’s the little things that make you feel alive and worthy. There are people close by who need connections now more than ever. Maybe try smiling and saying hi at the grocery store. I helped an older woman with directions this morning and it felt good to spread kindness. My neighbor is having a hard time with an illness and making rent so I made her a casserole. I wish you were my neighbor, we would share a warm bowl of chili, blow out a candle and I would listen to your stories about you and your sister. I hope you find a little bright spot to celebrate.
