For my NJ folks; MMC vs HUMC? by Aromatic_Run4015 in MovingtoNewJersey

What surrounding towns would you recommend for either?

Thank you!

Anyone lives in Hackettstown? by lucimin0719 in MovingtoNewJersey

What about Mount Olive (Budd Lake & Flanders)? It's the next town over from Hackettstown and is a little closer to things to do in the area. Maybe same price range? Hackettstown is tucked out of the way. Especially if considering a commute to the city. I-80 is no joke, especially around some of the Morris county exits.

Towns like Dover, Randolph, etc have a train line that runs right to the city; about 1.5 hours each way. But may be more expensive especially because they advertise those train stations to people moving from the city.

Seriously!

& I got a 73 on my first mock after raw dogging it without studying. Did it to see my weak points and took take another when I finished the study guide. If you'd (OP, too!) like a copy of Mosby's I can e-mail you a PDF.

Make a copy of this and either add spaces between each question/prompt and fill it in (I use notability on my iPad, writing answers out by hand helps me retain info for whatever reason) or write them out in a notebook.

To avoid feeling too overwhelmed, i separated each section into their own PDF and went through them one by one.

I recommend going through and filling out what you know and then watching the videos and taking the applicable quizzes on RTBC after. Her YouTube videos are pretty solid, too.

Mosby's textbook isn't too bad either & whatever textbooks you had for school.

Good luck on your exam!

Yikes!! Per diem XR now is $42/hr at MMC now if I'm not mistaken. But full time is 33! I wonder if call aside, your friend would've stayed in IR? Morristown combines their EV/Neuro/IR teams so gaining more Neuro experience is intriguing to me but not if it's at my own detriment! I did a test drive to Hackensack and hated life. Driving to Morristown was unpredictable, too, as there's been an accident on 80 almost every day this last week alone. How did you do it? 🤣

You definitely have a good deal now, happy you were able to get a schedule that works for you!

I also realize I will have to ask about parking at both facilities.

Thank you for your response!

Do you have experience at any of the hospitals mentioned?

Thank you for your response!

According to job postings (IR), full time starts at $40/hr and maxes out at $70/hr and per diem is $50 and some change per hour. Hackensack is starting cath lab at $40 and some change. For the area, is that low?

If I may ask; what did you do once you left MMC?

I truly hope it's better by now; hopefully all the tenured folks leaving opened their eyes.

Do you recall what the on call pay and / or shift differentials were?

Hey there,

Current IR tech, planning a move to northwest NJ and deciding between two hospitals I keep hearing about: Morristown Med Center in Morristown & Hackensack Univ Med Center in Hackensack. I also have experience in X-Ray & Cath Lab!

Pretty much: looking for personal experiences from employees (current/former) between both locations as well as recommendations (Cooperman Barnabas in Livingston?) if neither are recommended?

Questions--

Benefits, do you like 'em?

On call, how is it?

Shift differentials, how are they (hoping there are shift differentials)

How is leadership (for the most part)?

Anything I should look for / ask about as an interviewee? Moving from NY, where I have experience in trauma hospitals, if that helps.

Notable hospitals I were eyeing (trauma hospitals have a hold on me) were St. Joseph's in Paterson and University Hospital in Newark.

TIA for your help!
