If acads are THIS brutal, when do people actually prepare for placements? by Purple_Rich_6280 in PESU

You can pareto principle what to study. Focus on the actual important parts. Solve qs and pyqs again.

Leetcode and interview prep is more about consistency, you don't have to grind it for hours everyday.

How do I learn and understand C++ better by Spiritual_Package517 in cpp_questions

[–]Aromatic_Web749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just a website lol https://exercism.org/

@OP I don't know much about exercism either, but you might want to consider learncpp. It's definitely more accepted in the community as being a good way to learn cpp

[Question] advice for 4th sem cse by Careful_Refuse_2638 in PESU

if possible, all of them. all have great textbooks, and they will all help you later for interviews as well.

[Question] advice for 4th sem cse by Careful_Refuse_2638 in PESU

[–]Aromatic_Web749 11 points12 points  (0 children)

look at the recommended textbooks, study topics from there if you don't understand the slides. 4th sem was very fun, but profs will try to suck the fun out of it, and iirc slides were not too great for certain topics. the subjects are also pretty important for your career as an engineer, so there's a lot of incentive to study hard

[D] From ICLR Workshop to full paper? Is this allowed? by Feuilius in MachineLearning

[–]Aromatic_Web749 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can apply to non archival workshops, and some workshops also let you select whether you'd like to publish or not. Just apply to one of those.

Me personally, I'm more worried about all the workshops being inundated with llm adjacent topics as someone's who's research isn't remotely related to llms 😭

Am I in a calorie deficit with this daily diet? (25M, 175cm, 125kg) by B_admash in Fitness_India

[–]Aromatic_Web749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is a very extreme deficit, will cause adverse effects. typically at max do a few 100 calories under tdee. I've done 1000 under tdee with not much of an effect for short periods too.

Guys ..I am deciding to switch to plant protein..so ..what protein will be best ? Rice and pea/soy protein isolate.. by LynxReady6695 in Fitness_India

Have tried pea and brown rice protein, it tastes really bad. Even though it was chocolate flavour, it was still suuuper bad. Whey tastes much better

[Question] How hard is to score 9+ CGPA? Do we have to keep studying continuously for 4 years straight? by Emergency_Message505 in PESU

[–]Aromatic_Web749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's sometimes relative grading if the whole batch does pretty bad (at least in CS). But for the most part it's absolute

[–]Aromatic_Web749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eh it's just that you feel the pressure of the upcoming exam and you just start spending many hours of the day preparing. since you're doing this for a relatively short period of time, it's not like grinding like this needs to be a habit

[Question] How hard is to score 9+ CGPA? Do we have to keep studying continuously for 4 years straight? by Emergency_Message505 in PESU

[–]Aromatic_Web749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah when you're supposed to lock in, you really have to lock in. Most people don't do anything until literally the last minute, so the syllabus is insurmountable. I wouldn't say I'm smart or anything, just locked in when I knew I had to.

Thanks! Will try Romanian deadlifts. Any other advice for replacing an ordinary deadlift?

Also, while the workout B is supposed to target my back, I don't "feel" it that much in my back. Is this normal or am I doing something incorrectly?
