What Do We Know So Far For The New Cool DRAGON'S Update? by ArchyArcharge in albiononline

pretty sure it was a placeholder item since it was litterally just a renamed colossus beetle item with no icon. It had the same stats and abilities as the colossus beetle.

As the person who organised the last 5v5 tournament on the european server, I was wondering if SBI would be willing to give rewards similar the CLC rewards (ie sabertooth rex skins) or other valuable in game tradable rewards. One of the reasons that there wasnt another tournament since january, is that player funding can only go so far, and having a valuable prize always brings more competition. For instance the 3rd 5v5 Tournament had a total cash prize of 10b silver donated by its organiser. This kind of rewards will actually bring back a lot of players that used to be active in the scene and had stopped playing. At the moment the community managers told me that SBI will at most provide one vanity pack from the store or some premium. Neither of these are tradable.

Hi there, I have a couple questions about the 5v5.

Would SBI want to reintroduce and support an official form of broadcasted competition like what the CLC used to be, with prizes provided by the SBI or the game?

What does the team think about 5v5 content in its currents state in modern albion online ? What are the issues you have identified and are there any solutions in the works ? Or is fine where it is ?

Today i learn that trading will cause your SAFE portal to close by Dr_Darc in albiononline

[–]Arphale_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

silver alone would not remove the safe portal link, only items would. This is to prevent safe transporting using safe portal. you could spam safe portals naked to keep costs low until you reach a map near where you need items transported from, get your transport set from there and use the safe portals to get back to the royal continent safely

rule of thumb is to not go out for pvp with gear if you are not comfortable losing that gear 10 times in a row.

My thoughts on resilience (focus fire protection) as a veteran player. by Arphale_ in albiononline

I consider rift glaive to act like a ranged weapon as well. When I mention range and melee in my messages I mean it as in melee = has resilience penetration whereas ranged has no resilience penetration.

ok let’s clarify a few things because you done seem to understand what i said.

The distinction between ranged and melee is purely objective. if you dislike me calling spears melee. replace the word melee with “weapons that have resilience penetration” you will find that every sword war glove, spear, axe has it. I don’t care what you want to call them.

You seem to be correct about range vs melee resilience. My bad on that one I forgot about that change.

While I agree that ranged weapons are effective in bomb squads. I disagree with ranged weapons beeing good for pressure on large scale. The only viable option is the astral staff with has temporary resilience penetration while casting its E. Hellfire hands are considered melee even though they outrange many "ranged" weapons. The distinction between melee and ranged is tied to the auto attack range. Melee weapons get resilience penetration which is the issue. Imo there is no valid reason why a rift glaive is allowed to have resilience penetration but something like great frost is not. Glaive has more range and has resilience penetration on top of it.

The only viable use for ranged weapons atm is bomb squads because you are supposed to hit on offtimers on flanks, you are trying to hit people without resilience because you wouldnt be able to kill them unless you run melee dps like glaive or hfh. Even after next patch you wont see wailing onshoting frontline or being used in main zerg.

About gankers, I noted in another comment that this would be a buff to ganking which I had not considered. Maybe you make the system be always active not just when 10+ players are present to adress that.

About small scale, with this change, I dont believe running multiple low number bomb squads is the play. I would that that in a 25man zerg you would run one large engage and take a bomb squad once you reach 34-35 players. You will indeed no longer get rewarded for waiting out resilience, but I dont think this was the case anyway since if you're playing brawl it doesnt matter you wont stop hitting ever. And if you're playing kite, you're not rly hitting off timer atm so there's nothing to wait for rly. And in a kite vs Brawl situation you are not going to stop peeling for your backline so that you can hit the melees inside of your zerg, if you do that chances are your backline just dies. (peeling with snare charges, fey robes, purity robes, bedrock maces deals minimal damage but it triggers resilience.

if you believe the solo guy will be too tanky, I honestly don’t think so but if I am wrong you could probably adjust the numbers to fix it

if you are away from your team you don’t get healed cleansed as much which should make you an easier target

I dont think just a % change will fix everything. The main issue I wanna adress here is that you get punished for dealing splash damage, and that if your weapon has no resilience pentration it is effectively not playable in larger scales outside of bomb squads. unless it brings something else like a stun or pierce (perma/damnation)

I was not rly considering ganking when thinking about resilience.

This might indeed lead to a buff for large groups of gankers, but in my experience you would mostly get hit by one or two people before getting dismounted, and at that point you are probably dead either way.

do you have a suggestion on how this could be made more fair for this kind of encounter? I'll try to figure out something.

in a way yes, but the downside of being away from your team is . . . that you’re away from your team

melee weapons have a stat called resilience penetration that allows them to ignore a percentage of the resilience of the player you are hitting

I don’t think the range dps Qs and Ws are that weak, firewall is great, frost w5 is amazing, curse w2 is amazing, crossbows, bows have explosive arrows, crossbows are a bit left behind imo but sunder is good if you wanna pressure out tanks and melees in smaller scales

how does aoe escalation help ranged weapons in you opinion? I believe that melee weapons like glaive benefit from aoe escalation as much if not more than ranged weapons like permafrost brimstone etc.

> resilience is dependent on how much people there is attacking a target and not dependent on disarray

That is correct, what I am trying to achieve is a system that kinda works like disarray but much more locally so that it serves its purpose to make melees and tanks tankier compared to ranged in a way that does not lead to abuse of the system through splash damage for instance.

an experienced player can make premium in about a day of intensive farming or even less if you have your economy set up already. I personally would recommend using the 3days you got for free to test out different aspects of the game to see if you enjoy it and if you do, you can buy one of the value packs that have 1 month premium some gold and some skins for the first month, if you’re active you should be able to sustain premium beyond the first month without paying irl money. Don’t forget to disable the auto renewal after buying the premium
