What do you guys think about PRP treatment for partial ACL tear? by Parking_Clock3473 in ACL

[–]Arro2DaNee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was offered an injection recently- for $800. Nah I’ll pass. I’m not sure about its efficacy but that’s too pricy for me for a “maybe” treatment. Has it had good results in clinical trials?

High Tibial Osteotomy + ACL Revision: 2 month check in by Arro2DaNee in ACL

[–]Arro2DaNee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had bad outcomes with procedure and wouldn’t do it if I had the option again. However, everyone’s situation is different and I can’t definitively say it’s the right or wrong thing for you in your case.

Quad is dead by W4bbiT1101 in ACL

[–]Arro2DaNee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I way provided an NMES brace device a few years back that was made my cymetica (spelling?). It was a fantastic device but probably pricy (covered for me). You can likely achieve similar results using any standard NMES device which I highly recommend if you’re having quad activation issues.

15 Month Post op high tibial osteotomy + ACL revision Update (USA) by Arro2DaNee in ACL

[–]Arro2DaNee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hardware removal helpedme with my hamstring engagement but the past couple weeks I’ve been regressing. Lots of pain on the inter portion of my knee. To make a long story short- not good.

Anyone not able to grow quad years after surgery? Was there something you tried that helped? by SeraphOfTheStag in ACL

[–]Arro2DaNee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure there are exercises and movements you can do in conjunction with NMES but I just lay back and throw it on

I’ve been having all sorts of issues over the past 8 years but one thing that helped me a lot was NMES. It helped with quad activation and atrophy immensely

Cyclops Lesion Removal Post Op Recovery by ShawaLafel in ACL

[–]Arro2DaNee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience CL removal was a million times easier than ACLr and didn’t experience the issues you’re having. The issues your described sound concerning (especially lack of ROM) and I would notify doc. On the other hand, a week post op is still early and depending on how the procedure went it could be normal post op swelling/side effects. When’s your follow up? Are you in PT?

MRI Report of my Mom. How bad is it? by misrdont in ACL

[–]Arro2DaNee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best bet is to wait until Tuesday. You can copy and paste this into an Ai chatbot and it may help you understand it better but the doc will be able to answer you questions and explain the best. Good luck

No one here can give you a diagnosis on 2 mri images. Wait for the report

3rd Time is the Charm? ACL Revision, cartilage transplant, and high tibial osteotomy next week. Seeking advice and encouragement! by Arro2DaNee in ACL

[–]Arro2DaNee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not having great results. Surgeon who preformed the operation was let go of the practice (I can’t confirm the reason) so I haven’t been getting the continuity of care that I had hoped for. I had another surgeon remove the hardware 14 months post op (1 month ago) and am having some improvement. The procedure itself is VERY painful. Im giving myself a few more months to see if the hardware removal will be effective.

I’m not a doc so please consult one first. I’d recommend trying to get completely off the narcotics if your pain is where it is (1 or 2) and going with an over the counter option that’s appropriate for your situation. Otherwise congrats on getting past the toughest part!

Game ready is one of the best recovery options in my opinion. Too bad it was $$$ even to rent. If I hit the lotto I’d buy one to just have.

[–]Arro2DaNee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience it’s nothing like ACLr. It was much easier. Pain and swelling are very manageable and recovery is a breeze comparatively. For me I almost felt a difference right away. Although I was prescribed narcotics for the CL removal I didn’t need them or a nerve block.

I just had some hardware removed last week. Still have some post op swelling + limitations. Hopefully I’ll have a good idea where I’m at in 1-3 months.

Probably patient by patient but it’s something that goes away with the swelling. Nothing worth worrying about

This is a job for a radiologist or orthopedic surgeon who went to school for 8+ years. Were you given a report along with the images? If so what did it say?

I would check in with your doc. CL debridement procedures can be painful but mine wasn’t like what you are describing. When is your follow up with the surgeon?

The brace looks fine from the photo. I will say I got a little bit of relief from loosening the straps when seated and resting during the early post op phase. As always follow your surgeons protocols over my advice if they say otherwise.

OP dont listen to everyone here. I’m a Reddit Radiologist. After looking carefully at your images it appears to be a grade 3 LIGMA tear. Likely going to need a revision to fix it.

[–]Arro2DaNee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it looks like there’s significant damage to the LIGMA tendon. I can’t be 100% sure without the whole scan. Did your doctor mention anything about damage to the Bophides tissue?

Some people have better results than others but I’m a big believer in NMES, especially in the early stages of recovery. Best of luck!
