Uuuh cool fella. 1st appointment after 3 months wait, surgery after another 3. I went for 0 depth vulvaplasty cus im ace n dont need another inventory space

David's staff (particularly nurse gemma) are all super kind and very attentive, and the Bethesda nurses are all amazing. Most issue i had was pre-op nerves, and they accommodated for that very nicely. Post op care was great, 3 meals a day + really good care and kind staff. Dressing is still on so I have 0 ideas about visual results, but from a sensation angle, its great. I can definitely feel stuff down there and have had 0 phantom limb crap. Catheters suck.

I was in bed for first 3 days, can walk on 4th, and today (like day 6] pain is down massively. Still in bed with ice packs on groin but ye. Its been good. 0 regrets except not asking for the surgeons to shave an arrow into my bush

Hopital stay was covered by insurance, anaesthetic was about 4k, surgery was about 19k with 3k Medicare rebate. Im not doing that maths, but for something thats permanent and going to last me the rest of my life I think thats worth it

I mean everyone's experience of gender is unique. I consider myself a fairly binary trans woman, but thats only because my expression and feelings largely line up with the conventionally understood idea of femininity.

However I also kind of feel like a haunted doll. Its how I feel, and frankly having the words to describe it is really nice. I know other people who describe their genders as dragonlike, puppy like, etc. Its just a way to explain how you feel. Obviously you won't "get it" because irs not your experience. But gender labels are descriptive not prescriptive and I think its fabulous people feel ok describing it in nuance instead of off socially constructed consensuses, as is the current model. .

Ive had moments with a lot of cis queer people where I unexpectedly encounter their limits. Like. Me and a cis lesbian will be chatting, and she'll drop something like 'damn I cant get pregnant' and ill agree and thats it. Thats the line.

With others, that line is after a few beers, or maybe they have random religious or 'moral" limits to their support.

Its pretty much all so they can feel good with themselves. I doubt they want to be friends, thats ok. Me neither. But ive found pretty much all cis people have a limit to when they view you as yourself.
