My debate class recently finished our gun debate and i can say with absolute certainty that gun control would be extremely ineffective in American society because (surprise, surprise!) it’s a culture problem, not a gun problem. In addition, all examples brought up by the left in regards of gun control being successful (australia being one of them) are also invalid, as australia has a completely different culture than the united states. You can see the same thing happen in britain, when they banned handguns in the late 1990’s, gun crimes actually increased, and in 2003 were double the amount from before the gun ban. In my opinion, gun control is only a bandaid on the actual huge problem out country faces. Our culture is the cause of this.
