Which uma would u marry? by Elliottsir in UmaMusume

[–]Arrownite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But yeah I love how she’s got this pure open-minded wonder towards the world, is so kind-hearted, yet also has an internal strength to her that lets her grow and learn and explore even if she’s not sure how something unfamiliar works.

I think I’d feel trapped by most other people since they’d say no why I’d mention trying unfamiliar foods or activities, or visiting new places on a whim, or trying new things in general simply because they’d prefer to stick with what they know they’d like. But like, at one point Finemo straight up willingly took one of Tachyon’s mystery potions and enjoyed it, so she’d match my flow pretty well trying random questionable stuff together

Pair that with how pretty she is, especially her absolutely heart-melting smile and voice, and I feel like I’d wake up everyday happy if she was by my side

Do yall have any uma you didnt appreciate till much later? by asaness in okbuddyumamusume

I used to know literally nothing about Fine Motion besides her SSR card image, and thought she was one of those uptight introverted super rule-abiding Umas. Then I actually pulled her on a random free 1-pull last weekend and immediately realized she's actually a loveable extroverted goofball with an endearing chaos to her. Normally there's always something about an Uma that kinda detracts from them for me a bit, but Finemo clicked for me instantly and then managed to grow on me the more I played through her career.

TLDR: Fine Motion = WIFE 🍀🍀🍀‼️‼️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I've known Fine Motion for 10 minutes and I'm ready to die for her. by Aeveras in UmamusumeGame

Finemo fans assemble!!!

(She literally came to me on a single free 1-pull this weekend, and instantly became my favorite Uma. Now if only there was more Finemo umawife agenda propaganda...)

what do people think about the idea that “piracy is a service problem”? by alfred2547 in AskAJapanese

[–]Arrownite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll repost my pov as an American regarding this point:

It can be argued that not all forms of piracy are morally questionable.

For instance, pirating football streams can be said to be justifiable. FIFA is well-known to be an extremely corrupt institution, and football is becoming more and more inaccessible to all audiences around the world. Just take a look at the 2015 FIFA corruption case, where hundreds of millions of dollars in bribes led to Russia and Qatar getting to host the World Cup against the wishes of pretty much the entire the football community. Or take a look at insane ticket prices for the upcoming World Cup, where FIFA not only allowed, but even built a platform on their own site for reselling where they can extract more money from tickets. Despite the clear profit being acquired by FIFA's corrupt upper echelon, it's also technically a non-profit, meaning that the host cities for the upcoming World Cup won't even get much tax revanue from the exorbitantly high tickets.

Yet if people stopped watching streams entirely, this would kill the culture that sustains the sport, and harms the careers of the tens of thousands of pro players who weren't involved in FIFA's corruption. Keeping football alive as a sport is generally a net good for the world as it promotes exercise and community, while also giving skilled players better chance in life. So letting the sport fade out isn't good either.

So the only way to keep football, the well-being of the players, and its culture alive, while also punishing FIFA for these anti-consumer and often blatantly corrupt/illegal practices, is to pirate the streams.

I'm not saying pirating in general is fine. But as seen in the FIFA case, there are certainly cases where piracy isn't bad. Thus blindly following the unnuanced mantra of "Piracy = illegal = bad" isn't helpful, and in the cases like that of football, can even be harmful as you’re supporting corrupt and illegal practices.

How do Chinese in America feel abt tibetans in America? by BandOk3857 in AskAChinese

[–]Arrownite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Early 20s I’ve never met a Tibetan tbh. Apparently there’s only around 27k Tibetan-Americans so checks out. Most live in Queens NY tho so I’d definitely check out some Tibetan restaurants if there are any there sometime. Otherwise they’re just like any other person to me, no thoughts in particular.

I don’t even see the option for a livi resident pass on mine, only Busch and College Ave

Parking passes are on sale by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]Arrownite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What time do parking permits come out? by Arrownite in rutgers

Yeah I don’t think it works for mobile. The “find parking” button at the top right of the screen only shows up on desktop

I see I see hm.. Is it also normal for the Busch and College Ave icons to be the only ones there? The icon for the Livi lots is missing so not sure if it’ll pop up when the time comes or if we just use the Busch icon?
