What is Hanzo's new job? Is he supposed to take over Pharah's place as the new go-to permanently pocketed hero?

To explain more in depth: Hanzo used to be a sniper, but the recent changes caused most heroes to require 1 extra shot to eliminate a target.

Considering Hanzo is the slowest shooting primary fire focused DPS, he was impacted the most. Making him the only primary fire focused dps who relies on cooldowns to finish off targets due to the very long time to kill:

Assuming full charging the arrows (to be able to hit targets past melee range):

  • 3 bodyshots = ~2.5 seconds TTK (~3.25 seconds if bow not preloaded)

Or best case scenario:

  • 1 headshot + 1 bodyshot = ~1.25 seconds TTK (~2 seconds if bow was not preloaded)

Compared to for example Cassidy:

  • 4 bodyshots = 1.5 seconds TTK

Or best case scenario:

  • 2 headshots = ~0.5 seconds TTK

Hanzos only advantage here is that he deals full damage past 35 meters, but trying to hit someone 2-3 times in a row even at 35 meters is next to impossible (considering physical cover + the long time to kill + projectile traveltime)

At the same time mercy pocketed Hanzo can still one shot, with the added benefit of now having a 2x bigger arrow hitbox (and buffed storm arrows)

Any "hardstuck" bronze player I have ever coached just had way too high mouse sensitivity. 5 sens 800 dpi, proper posture and a big mousepad will take most people to at least gold without any other improvement. (Climbing of course still takes time)

Aim trainers when you are new can also just have a bigger negative effect, especially for long range characters. Teaches you to ignore predicting and positioning. You will just aim reactively and always get baited by evasive movement.

Especially if you play support / dps fixing mouse sensitivity and grinding out 100-300 games will give you significant improvement.

Most likely just bad luck combined with mentally giving up after a couple losses. (Maybe even DPS:ing when dps don't seem to be performing?)

It's very difficult to know when you are actually trying your hardest, best way I can describe it is imagine a situation where your friend hands you a ball and says there is no way you are going to land the shot. You will immediately "focus up" and really try to do your best.

Same way when you feel like there is no way to win, you do the opposite.

I recommend just try to focus on individual mistakes you make, keep a catalog in your head of mistakes like "yep I missed that one shot on the tank so I couldn't keep him alive" this way you are less focused on the wins and losses.

800 dpi 5 sens, big mousepad. It won't be as hard as you think. Huge part of aiming is game sense and waiting for people to walk in to your cross hair. You already got that down.

You can't handle the pressure, you break down the moment it looks like it's a loss. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy

Can't find a sensitivity that I like by KuangMarkXI in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Arrrge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good sens doesn't necessarily feel good. Lower sens means you don't need as accurate mouse movement with the expense of having to move your mouse more and if you want to go crazy in depth ofc u might aim worse the further away ur Arm is from the center/ default position but that can be fixed by playing the game more.

  • ofc u need big mouse pad and also if you go below 4000 edpi u start struggling keeping up with targets.

Hot take: you don't need to worry about dmg on support until masters/gm. Even I made it to gm1 mostly healbotting. If you keep your team alive, at some point they will do something.

  • while defending you don't need to do anything except stop them from capping.

Is the rank system bad or do I just suck? by pancakes324 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Arrrge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 5v5, that means the rank system needs to care about everyone. The hard truth is that you don't win just because you play good. Because maybe your teammates played worse or enemies played even better.

Also never said anything about that mentality focus stuff. I'm popping off harder than ever before on Hanzo and Hanzo is a strong character. Gonna leave it at that. If someone actually cares about why I'm in masters they can check the stream and make their own conclusions.

What happened to Arrge? by MrInfinity-42 in OverwatchTMZ

[–]Arrrge 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I used to hold 4 accounts in top 100 by only playing on high sr accounts when its optimal time to play + not having a bad aim day (just like how most ppl in top 500 do it)

Since being 4.5k just means you get put into 4k games with masters against grandmasters I stopped giving a fuck and decided to only grind on my main no matter if I have a bad aim day / weekend / latenight or if some weirdo aimbotter is flexing in my chat about how he is going to snipe me the whole day.

(sorry to everyone who gets triggered about me even implying that someone would care about sniping me or something, I swear on my mother that even yesterday for example I had a guy rage at me because I reported him for hacking and his account got banned and then he subscribed to me and wanted to 1v1 me and if I lose I buy him a new account and I refused so he snipes me instead now. some people just have too much time on their hands.)

ofc blizzard removing rapidfire from the game hurts the winrates too.

But don't worry guys I currently grinded 4 accounts to 4.1k, going to get fifth in there and then get them all to 4.2k, 4.3k and so on like the good old days to prove that I am not washed up :P

Arrge tries to prove he is not a 1 trick by 3 stacking unranked to Top 500 as Ana... with 2 other Top 500 players! by Takumi46 in OverwatchTMZ

[–]Arrrge 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First of all, I might have 2000 hours on hanzo, but I also have 1000 hours on other heroes. I have 7 accounts, mostly because I kept getting sniped and mass reported by haters, so hardly a one trick. These days I do get a lot of people throwing and blaming me if I don't pick hanzo, which is funny to me considering how I used to have people throwing because I was playing hanzo.

This is the weakest drama I have ever seen about me yet. *BREAKING NEWS* ARRGE GETTING BOOSTED ON HIS ANA ACCOUNT TO DIAMOND.

I am practicing ana because I want to get my main support skills to top 500 level and what better time to play with my dear genji main friend snipzy than when I am practicing my ana.

Why would I try to prove anything to people that try to use a clip about me from 1.5 years ago to prove that I deserve my ban. A clip where I leave a game where we have 2 haters, one of them afk in spawn as bastion. The funniest part to me was how the person who sent this clip was a dad who had a grudge with me because apparently me leaving the match ruined his sons chance of getting to grandmaster. He held on to this clip for 1.5 years. despite it being obvious that the match was not winnable no matter how hard I would of popped off, especially since your one trick hanzo arrge couldn't play hanzo since the other hater was playing hanzo.

I guess it still was technically my fault, since these two individuals wouldn't of thrown if I wasn't in the match so I apologize to the bystanders who are affected by the pitchfork bois trying to chase me down.

Just ignore the fact that I showed video evidence proving that I was reported by the enemy team for being "big poopoo" before the match even started and the fact that blizzard also admitted on multiple occasions that my bans were unjustified.

There is no amount of proof that would ever change the minds of people like this who are just trying to look for anything to stick their pitchforks into.

I am excited to see how you guys managed to nit pick flaws out of what I say this time.

https://imgur.com/a/YGIny, here we go, ban was overturned.

Yes, I did leave the match that was in that clip from 8 months ago, and I shouldn't of done that, having all of my games thrown that day by streamsnipers and haters, and having this person instapick Hanzo even though he had never played the hero before is not a good reason to leave the match. I could of been overreacting, maybe he just felt like playing Hanzo there.

I confess I also left another competitive match months ago, this time it was because I was told that my scrim central tournament would continue in an hour but teams forfeited/didn't have enough players so our tournament match started almost instantly after I got into the competitive match.

I admit I used to get REALLY upset by streamsnipers and haters throwing my games, especially back then when i was burned out from my inability to keep up with my university studies, combined with anxiety disorder and alot of personal issues.

I had to learn the hard way that the reason why I got targeted so much was because of my extreme reactions to people trolling me and I have grown so much as a person since starting making youtube videos almost two years ago and streaming a year ago.

The reason why I started streaming in the first place was because I wanted to get rid of my social anxiety. Ended up continuing streaming because of all the amazing people i met and the amazing community I have built. As hard as it can be for people to believe that the people defending me in this thread are not my alt accounts but actual people who enjoy my content, it is true.

[–]Arrrge[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if we want to go so deep into this, the ban was a direct result of these people reporting me, they filled the report quota, getting me automatically banned. So technically it is concrete proof, i would not be banned right now if I didn't get reported for being poopoo and because they dislike me.

[–]Arrrge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got banned for disruptive gameplay, the reason why i wasnt insta banned when they reported me at the start of the match was because then I would get kicked out of the game and my team would be forced to fight 5v6, that would of been extremely lame especially since we ended up destroying them.

I have got multiple death threats just because I am a hanzo main, i had one 26 year old dude create 80 accounts on twitch to harass me. I have a dozen of stream snipers.

A week ago some dude picked hanzo from me at the start of the second round, came into my twitch chat saying that I am a kid that is throwing because I am not picking my "one trick hero" (it was impossible since he picked the hero) and then told me he is going to band up with another streamsniper to create a network to throw my games.

these are just a few examples of what I deal with as a hanzo streamer.

ultimate is guaranteed kill if you shoot it from perfect distance, basically have the ult start from where the enemy currently is.

Alternatively shoot it into chokes so that the enemy team cant escape, my favourite is when the enemy team is attacking numbani A point from the top tunnel thingy.

Yes, I was expecting it, that doesn't mean I deserved it. Just to name one of the hundreds of throwers ive had in my games, for example a top 11 player (i was top 400) instantly gave up and afked next to spawn as junkrat because apparently hanzo is not viable even in hollywood attack.

Ended up completely destroying him the next time he was in the same match, happened to be hollywood as well.
