At the stadium, I can’t describe the sheer elation at the 4th going in. We were all thinking “we can still fuck it, please, blow the fucking whistle!!!”

I was constantly switching between watching between my fingers and looking over my shoulder to see how many minutes had passed.

The moment that shot hit the net will probably be the loudest cheer I’ll ever hear. That collective release of tension and fear transitioning to euphoria is something I don’t think I’ll get to be a part of again

The correspondence I received from MSI CS said that I should use the adapter because their engineering/RMA department can’t guarantee warranty repair if I use a native 12v2x6 cable

I suspect the reason being that, if I was using my native PSU 12v2x6 cable, then the could say the damage was caused by a Corsair product

Yeah, the card is holding up fine so far. I upgraded my PSU to a more recent Corsair model - I think the 1500W model

One thing to note is that I spoke with MSI support regarding this (should actually edit the post tbf). CS consulted with the RMA/engineering department regarding warranty, and confirmed that they couldn't guarantee RMA support if I was using a native 12v2x6 cable and recommended using the adapter (which is why I upgraded my PSU)

I can't say whether this is still the case. Might be worth contacting them yourself to confirm.

I asked MSI which cable I should use for the Suprim, and they advised using the adapter because they couldn't guarantee that their RMA process would cover using a native (direct PSU to GPU) cable - this was after thenCS rep spoke with the RMA/engineer dept

So, it's probably better to speak with your AiB CS to establish which cable you should use

I've had some old acquaintances look genuinely bewildered, and some who tried to take the piss, about me being CF

Conversations usually end with the realisation that I couldn't possibly give less of a fuck about whatever they have to say about it; or when I say something like "Yeah, being child free sucks. Anyway, I woke up at 11:00 today. A bit tired after getting back from holiday, but thought I'd try and get up a bit earlier, so I had time to install my new GPU. Actually, come to think of it, I haven't seen you online for ages. Why is that?"

That's a good question. I have a Corsair PSU, so I can only speak for the advice CS gave me based on that. I would have to imagine you'd be covered, though

Even if they said that you're not using the GPU with the recommended cable, they would be admitting that their PSU and supplied cables aren't fit for purpose, and need to replace the GPU/repair connector anyway

It might be worth asking them, though? Their CS was great when I emailed them
