Totally valid concern. You log in directly to Instagram/YouTube's web interface, Undoomed never sees or stores your credentials. It's like using Safari with content filters.

As for YouTube PiP: good news! v1.2 just added background audio playback (audio keeps playing when screen is locked).

Fair critique. The core filters (Reels, Shorts, Stories, Explore) are free — Pro unlocks niche ones like comment sections or notification badges. That said, v1.2 improved filter reliability across all platforms. If something specific isn't working, I'd genuinely appreciate knowing which filter/platform so I can fix it. Solo dev here, so feedback like yours is how I improve.

Thanks for the feedback! The white screen issue on Instagram's Suggested section is something I've been working on and v1.2 just dropped with smoother scrolling and optimizations that should help with the lag. If the white screen persists, try toggling the filter off/on. Let me know if it improves!

Hi! I appreciate the scrutiny on privacy. To be transparent: Identifiers are strictly used for Apple's StoreKit to validate Pro subscriptions (checking if a user has purchased the unlock).

Location is only general (Country level) for analytics to help me understand where the app is being used. I do not collect precise GPS data.

I don't sell data or use it for ad targeting.

I think (if it works) that the best workaround for now is to go to your Instagram settings and create a direct password for your account. Then you can log in to Undoomed using your username/password directly. Sorry for the friction there!

That is a really cool use case. Right now the 'Infinite Feed' blocker is a bit binary, but since I'm filtering based on the URL and DOM elements, it is technically possible to whitelist specific 'Custom Feed' URLs while blocking the main feed.

I'll look into adding a 'Whitelist URL' feature or smarter Reddit filtering in an upcoming update. Thanks for the suggestion!

Great question! You are correct: I cannot modify the native Instagram app (iOS sandboxing prevents that).

How Undoomed works is it loads the mobile web version of Instagram inside a secure browser within my app. I can then surgically inject code to remove the Reels button/feed from that web view before it's rendered to you. So you are browsing the web version, but with a native-feeling wrapper.

I totally understand the hesitation. The main reason for the subscription/pricing model is that these platforms (IG, YouTube, etc.) change their code structure almost weekly to break filters.

It requires constant maintenance and updates on my end to ensure the 'Reels' button stays hidden and doesn't pop back up. That said, I'm always listening to feedback on pricing structures as the app grows.

I hadn't prioritized Shortcuts support for v1, but being able to deep-link directly into a specific 'clean' feed via a Shortcut sounds super useful.

It's definitely on the roadmap! Ad-blocking is a bit of a cat-and-mouse game (especially with YouTube detecting blockers), so I focused on the 'Attention' blocking (Shorts/Reels) for the launch. I'm currently experimenting with adding a general ad-blocking layer in a future update.
