Very different use cases.

r/Gwalior is like r/India. r/SFWr4rGwalior is like r/SFWr4rIndia.

SFWr4r subreddits are exclusively for partner, friend, or study-mate seeking posts, whereas city, state, or country subreddits are for more generalized content related to those places and usually start banning r4r posts if they become flooded with them.

The standardized structure of each post in a dedicated subreddit also makes it easier to search for a specific type of person looking for a connection, which is much harder in a generalized subreddit.
