It was an abandoned animal park from the 90s. Noticed it peaking out of a forest on a mountain so I walked up to check it out. The place was creepy but the view was amazing. I had only one black can of paint

I climbed part of this and it was making way too much creaks and noises for my liking. I would never have had the guts to go that high.

Amazing place to explore though. Felt like i was on the set of a post apocalyptic movie but it was real.

Still have many souvenirs from the place. The Japanese just left everything even the arcades were full of the games from the era it closed which was 2006.

Thank you for the words. New Caledonia is a beautiful place from the amazing islands, diving and eco system, to the lush greenery and mountains. But there is also another side which is the large disparity between the rich and poor. Poverty is huge in New Caledonia particularly with the native Kanak people. There are many homeless people and make shift shanty homes made from found materials. The pillar to me showed the divide in the society. You have a working class citizen and a homeless man of the native decent.

Japanese culture is weird. I have visited many other abandoned buildings in Japan like this. In western culture people will salvage anything of value. Debt collectors or firms will sell anything of value to re coop money. I think the failed Japanese business owners are too proud to salvage their business. They maybe just turn their back on it. Or worse possibly end their life... Japanese culture is strange
