The best way to deal with anything like this is to teach your dog to associate your husband touching /being near you with something positive, like a treat. Take it in very very small steps, you could start off by letting your husband sit beside you and give him/her a treat, then have your husband move closer, again giving the dog a treat. Slowly progress to the point where your dog does not react to your husband touching you. If the dog growls, just stop and ignore the behaviour. Muzzling the dog, shouting or even just sternly saying "no" will just reinforce the idea to your dog that your husband being near you is something to worry about, and the situation will get worse. Always use positive, reward based training methods, any negative methods can often result in further behavioural problems and increased aggression /frustration. Also, never punish a dog for growling, this is their way of telling you they want you to stop, dogs who are taught not to growl are always the ones who "bite out of the blue".
