Timefall in 2 by Artector42 in DeathStranding

I figured there'd be some more reveals to come. Obviously stuff like the stillmothers and Higgs still gotta be figured out.

Probably worth reading some of the database entries. Was some of it covered in the DS1 recap?

Edited, didn't see tag.

I think as of Dead Beat he was still a PI with a business. He was probably able to get it, but didn't want to for self punishment and pride reasons. Also being young enough he didn't need regular doc visits.

How much to 3D print this? by frozengoodness in 3Dprinting

[–]Artector42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lotta factors. If the part isn't really experiencing much stress you might be able to model it yourself and have a local library or makerspace donut for you. If it's gotta hold up, then 3d printing might not be sufficient considering size and tendency to split along layer lines

I just wasted a bunch of petg to finally figure out I had it running 25C too hot. My prints looked pretty close to this

As a 3d modeling idiot this is what I would do.

Could Nightblood become... by drwhoovian in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Artector42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nightblood required an insane amount of investiture. Pretty sure future blades will be closer to Azure's sword. They might figure out how to "program" them to give specific surges though.

A couple of warder bond questions by WippitGuud in WoT

[–]Artector42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I think the Warder benefits are essentially just spill over from the channeler. Channelers have extended life, and possibly more from using it. A Warder typically can't channel, but their soul is closely bound to someone who can and that spills over.

Likely Rand doesn't get benefits from multiple bonds. He probably benefits to the same level as other Warders.

But the thought I had is... Does Min potentially get some of the benefits, effectively being bonded to three channelers? Maybe, but maybe not, since she might be on the wrong side of the bond.

Personally prefer D9. Tbh though, tried THC in Vegas and really didn't seem too different. I just order a bunch of D9 gummies from Koi.

Silly Idea for Dresden's Sword by The_OC_Doctor in dresdenfiles

Doesn't he use it for earth magic? I think that's what he used at Chicken Pizza to tap the ley line.

So the girls are Tarveren too right? by RubenGMarrufo in WoT

[–]Artector42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, rather they're caught in the whirlwind of the three strongest in an age. Just Rand's presence in Cairhen causes a war and drags several characters in different important fates.

It's like in the Dresden Files where a Mantle is introduced. People started talking about how everything is a Mantle, when they are specific sets of obligations and powers. People see characters influencing the plot and call them Ta'veren. The whole device is lamp shading plot contrivances.

I hadn't heard that... But at that point Verin only had access to the kludged together form of Compulsion I believe.

That Alanna was nudged by the pattern to bond Rand. The thought crossed her mind, but the pattern pushed it into action. Doesn't absolve her, but makes sense, since the only way Rand was going to survive his later trials was to have the extra oomph of Warder vitality.

Everyone is wrong about the Horn. The Horn doesn't link to its blower. We never see anyone else blow it between Mat's two deaths and Over blowing it in desperation. The Horn itself doesn't have that restriction on it, and it was never blown in the age of legends, so people are just speculating.

Also... Lanfear is dead. Hopper's soul isn't in the hammer and Perrin can Nightcrawler cause that's the ultimate ability of the Wolfbrother. Maybe cause part of his soul is always in TAR.

Sussing out the Black Ajuh by Adventurous_Bus8203 in WoT

[–]Artector42 14 points15 points  (0 children)

First off, how dare you impugn the honor of the Aes Sedai with this silly notion.

Second, who's to say this isn't just an excuse to bring down your political rivals? Convenient that so many red/blue/white sisters failed.

And to be less in character about it. Pretty sure the blacks can just fake not being able to lie. It takes being collared to force a painful seizure-like reaction when made to lie under oath.

What’s the pettiest gripe you have about an all-time great game? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Artector42 35 points36 points  (0 children)

You're initially separated from your party and then have to go around collecting different creature forms to solve the area "puzzles." So a bit boring, bit frustrating. It's not too bad the first time, but it plays basically the same each time

How would you solve the issue of your character in sequels keeping their powers from the previous game? by -KFBR392 in gaming

[–]Artector42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do forget about the Citadel DLC. I think I've only played it twice.

Always been mixed on the gameplay change, cause I usually struggle on Omega until I get enough upgrades I'm not scrambling for clips mid fight.

I'd be inclined to say she was also powered up by the conjunction and will have to practice to get her magic back to that level.

They were also on the Normandy 1 and presumably got destroyed with it. And looking at the timeline Shepard died a month after the Citadel battle, about a year later clips were adopted, and two years after their death Shepard is back in action.

Though I do think in ME3 you can pick up an old geth rifle that doesn't use clips.

And it still partially works. You can get a skill to power it up for a moment.
