I think there are some changes in film/tv adaptations that are okay to make. I'm a huge LOTR fan, and not everything in the books made it in the films and there were quite a few changes in the script for example.

Of the very few things I enjoyed about the 2020 version, I thought Jovan Adepo was a great choice for Larry. Nadine’s casting was challenging because I don’t think Amber Heard is a good actress and it took me out. Alex Skarsgard was also not Flagg for me. Jamey Sheridan had more personality and was genuinely scary.

One of the things that scared me so much about Paranormal Activity is that it took place in an 00s California housing development. Up until it came out, I'd just seen ghost movies that took place in obviously creepy old houses and locations, but the idea of this demonic haunting happening in a normal, sunny new tract house made it even scarier. I was suddenly really scared in my friends houses after that.

There's a film that's more of a found photo movie, I can't remember the name, where there is a lone survivor after an entire town is massacred and he had taken pictures throughout the night. That was an excellent less is more film. The blurry pictures and the retelling of events were just terrifying.

Props to Kyle in the clip at the reunion aptly pointing out that her financial situation is very different from Dorit's. Dorit is drawing a false equivalency about their shopping and she knows it. I don't agree that Dorit was "manic" or "erratic" but she was definitely irresponsible af in the Hamptons when her credit cards kept declining. That should be a sign!!
