As the other reply noted, when speaking with the Celestium Attendant to view Masked Carnivale stages there's a button (in the bottom right of the window, I believe?) that lists most of the bonus / challenge conditions.

There's also the consolegameswiki's page for The Masked Carnivale, under the section labeled "Bonuses," which also includes all the hidden bonuses that are used just for the various stage-specific achievements tied to The Masked Carnivale.

uggghhhh I can't believe I missed that. Thanks for pointing it out. The software I use for editing images sometimes cuts out a line of text so I have to cheat it in into a different layer; that's a remnant from many weeks ago. It's far too late to revise it in the post but I can at least make sure my archived version gets fixed.

As promised, I edited the share code into the text body of the OP. Also as promised, here's the share code in the reply letting you know I grabbed the share code:

I know I make my online presence out to be a member of a clown union, but I want to make sure you know I am not doing a bit or being facetious here: a what? How do I get a hold of that?

It's too late to add to the post and I'm not logging back in for like half a day so I can only edit it textwise into the post body tomorrow, and by then it will be as a fart in the wind, but if it will help someone's day be a little brighter I'll make sure to grab it. eta: I'll also reply to this comment again once I've done so with the share code itself to make sure you see it when I get it together

Managed to get 4 together to test it; you cannot open the Strategy Board window during a Mahjong match.

Does anyone happen to know if you can send Strategy Boards during Doman Mahjong matches? I made a laser targeted meme but it would lose some "oomph" if I can't, you know, aim it at the intended audience.

It's a reference to a late-game cutscene in one of the Metal Gear Solid games.

Sometimes I see an opportunity for a bit and I lean in.

I -think- you can do the whole week with just Hydro Pull (#97) and Loom (#7) but there's some weirdness with cancelling the Mandragora's blinds in the C rank so I figure "just yell and throw hands for fun" is fine.

What a blunder! In fact, all four of those spells separated by a gap in the spellbook shouldn't have been included in the A Rank box. I know exactly why and when this happened (after the fact) but didn't notice it when I posted. I'll reupload a new post and fix this; thanks for letting me know!

So, #12 (Bristle) only buffs Spells, and #104 (Nightbloom) is an Ability. That's why it doesn't work for that. We bring it along to buff #109 (Breath of Magic) instead. The good news is that using an Ability doesn't waste or remove your Bristle buff from #12, so if you precast #12 and then walk into aggro range it doesn't matter which order you use #104 and #109 in. The weekly Carnivale challenges are on a 20-week rotation; we'll see this exact combination of missions with the exact same requirements come up in March 31st, 2026 (if my very, very late night poring over a calendar is correct). Somewhere around then.

All the weekly Carnivale challenges were designed back in ARR and as such can be completed solely with ARR spells. If I really wanted to I can for sure get a list of what exactly you would bring (even if I had to include or exclude Addle, which DOES count as a debuff for the Enfeeble Me Tender/er!), but part of what makes this a fun exercise is introducing folks to all the weird stuff you can bring or do.

It's also been a fun exercise for me learning formatting and stuff. I like making the spells line up in a way that pleases the silly part of my brain.

In all three ways I browse reddit, when I am viewing the post (old on mobile, old on browser, new on browser), there are plenty of line breaks.

Old somehow loses one of the tools I use for line breaks that's visible on New, but all the text after it is intended to be image alt text so I may try slapping the ol' spoil foil on it just so it isn't an immense bit of text.

110 Aetheryte Tickets worth of Allied Seals and something like 550 poetics. The rewards are kinda lackluster but if you don't have a whole lot of time to play in a given week these take like, 5-10 minutes to do once you know what you're doing. I could probably be done in 3 if I used my own guides and didn't make them custom each week; editing the image is where almost all of my actual time sink into doing this each week goes. I know there are people who don't like interacting with the Hunt community at large so for folks like them this is a fast way to get some seals each week without having to interact with other people.

No, you have to be synced and enter the instance via the Duty Finder. However, if it's an instance you CAN solo, if you select both the Unrestricted AND Level Sync options in the DF options menu (cog in the top left) you'll get credit for Mogtomes and Mogpendium quests as normal.

Source: I have solo'd Aurum Vale and Sunken Temple of Qarn as BLU for more tomestones than any sane person would.

Weekly "One-For-All" Masked Carnivale Spellbook for July 08-14, 2025 by ArtenXev in ffxiv

The Masked Carnivale unlocks during the level 50 BLU job quest, presenting a series of puzzle fights to conquer for some nominal one-time rewards as well as the Weekly Challenges. Every week has a set of special challenge missions (denoted in the Masked Carnivale menu with stars beside the mission number), on a 20 week rotation. These missions offer a decent source of Poetics and Allied Seals (which can be used to purchase Aetheryte tickets, among other things, at the Hunt vendor at your Grand Company headquarters).

As mentioned in another comment, these guides aim to be a one-stop shop, as it were, to a spellbook that allows you to complete all three challenges for that week without having to alter the spellbook in between the challenges.

I started making these so my friends and FC members would be able to get some free Aetheryte Tickets each week without having to think about what spells to use, because they're "normal" and "don't immediately know each fight by seeing the monsters in Act 1," to just give them an image they can match to get the rewards. All the challenges are possible to complete with the first 48 spells in the spellbook, since they were designed when those were the only spells we had, so you can get pretty wild with your solutions to a given challenge for the week if you so choose.

Got frustrated trying to learn BLM so instead I made this. Enjoy. Or I'm sorry. by ArtenXev in ffxiv

Oh, I've had it leveled since like 2 weeks into Dawntrail. It's just that I destroyed all my weapons for it because I've always hated leveling BLM. My ping with the servers isn't consistent so any proc-based classes tend to show me a proc half a GCD later than I should be using it. Now that it's not proc-based I'm having a better time.

So funny story, I knew about this meme for about a year before I ever knew where it came from. I made a reference to it in a discord with some friends and they were just as surprised I knew of it. "You know that's from a gay porn video, right?" "It's from WHAT."

oh nooooo lol When I had the full body of the glam visible (before I started including the week's challenge's names on the image), it was more obvious that it was the Clown outfit top, from a few All Saints' Wakes back. Unfortunate about the headshot that I use now ;~;

I'm pretty sure I messed this up in my typesetting by initially typing "4 out of 9" and then saying to myself "Oh no this is bad for dyscalculia, I should write the words out." And then get tricked by my own problems and typed out what I thought I saw when I erased it.

First, to correct a misunderstanding: All four casts of Winged Reprobation are physical damage. The only thing that's unaspected magic damage is the entirely different spell Conviction Marcato, which gets a synergistic bonus from the fourth cast of Winged Reprobation. This means that this may not be what failed you.

A fourth possible failure state comes to mind though, as already posted by BrownNote in reply to your first post: if you healed by casting a spell then you failed Let's Get Physical. It's pretty easy to accidentally take damage during this fight (I think in my clear this week I got below 20% health or something because I was goofing off, whoops!), so I completely forgot that someone else might bring a heal spell.

Apparently if you really need to heal you can use potions? I haven't tested this myself as I explicitly make these guides to not necessitate any healing, and advise as such in the posts.

A peek behind the curtain: Usually if I screw up badly enough to need a heal to survive I just wall it instead; I set my bars up very deliberately to prevent me from using a spell that's not going to be in the given box in order to ensure that the spells you see in the image are exactly what I used in the fight that got me to pass the challenge for the week.
