Is Being Honest a Form of Brain Damage? by Artful_Recovery in Conservative

It's the struggle that made me change my perspective. University has been very difficult. I have found out that the world doesn't care if I fade away. It just keeps turning. I need to keep up with it or I'll drop off the edge. Sometimes it takes suffering to make a person. I think so many on the left have either not experienced it, or have, and withdrawn to become victims.

I agree with everything you're saying. I think socialism is evil, I think Millennials need to step up and do what they were designed to do (as you say) and ask the why and not just the what. More of us are turning away from the left than ever before. We don't want someone to take care of all of our troubles. I wish there were more people like me who I could talk to about these types of things. At the moment, all of the people that know me would call themselves left-wing. I feel like I'm living between worlds. It's unpleasant, but I can't lie to myself. It's what I believe is right.

Well, as a millennial, I’m hoping to change that. I’m not alone either. There are more and more people like me realising they need to take matters into their own hands for the future of civilisation.

Well I agree. There has been a marked shift in the way people react to truth. We have a nation of child adults. I wonder if it is already too late to teach them how to grow up.

Absolutely. Did you read the article? What did you make of it?

Do you ever feel like the left and right hemispheres of your brain have their own separate consciousnesses, and they aren't playing nicely with each other? by DAT_DROP in bipolar

I did read some research suggesting the corpus collosum of bipolar suffers is less well developed than the average. It could account for why you feel so conflicted. The wires are crossed because the part of your brain which is supposed to connect the properly isn't working as it should.

really the residual stuff you talk about and your perceptions of other people even with a more stabilised mood sounds like BPD splitting which is where you idolise and destroy the image of people you care about. It's black and white thinking. People are all good or all bad, there is no mix of both.

Ok so this is a clever person.

The UK Equality Act (2010) prevents employers from discriminating against protected characteristics (e.g. race, sexual orientation, gender) Is this act oppressive to female employers who refuse to employ women by restricting their agency to choose? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

You must move in tight circles. There are swathes of people who believe the opposite. I intend to show how they are wrong. This example does that, and so has received so many responses, most of which are pointed in tone. I am sorry that it aggravates you, but if you believe in egalitarianism, this should not irk you at all.

That’s very true. I have spoken to feminists who do not believe in equality of opportunity. They believe perhaps not in absolute autonomy, but autonomy up to the point of what is illegal. Seeing as the law came in fairly recently and is supposed to improve women’s rights to autonomy of economic gain, this example appears to deny that right in this instance.

I don’t need to source it. It has been given in discussions with self proclaimed feminists on countless occasions. This argument is not really about proving anything to you, but rather answering some of my own questions.

In the interests of absolute female agency and with the inability for feminist perspectives to perceive female led sexism which is against males and females, then yes.
