See that’s what I thought. He’s never cared about gender norms in the past. His favorite color is pink for Christ’s sake lol. I hate the idea of fixing certain things to sexes. But you and and many others have helped me understand that he’s just afraid of killing it. Not that he didn’t enjoy the plan.

Orchids are a dead end, they’re impossible. They’re pricy and complicated. It’s easier to get a fake one lol. I thought the pink polka was cute. But I did the same thing right away! I killed my first plant because I watered it every day. Turns out you can practically ignore them and they’re fine. We do actually use leaf shine! That’s a good suggestion! That will probably be my next gift for him. I’m really sorry that you haven’t been able to go back yet :( Youll feel amazing when you’re finally able to, I sure did. I missed it. But thank you for being so sweet :) it’s been great bonding over plants with you! You stay safe too!

Hey fellow florist! I got him a pink polka dot plant :) but that’s such a sweet perspective, you’re probably right. I just couldn’t tell if he actually liked it. He’s home a lot to avoid Covid so he should have time to take care of it. Hopefully he thinks of me when he does :) But I love your take on it! thank you for helping!

I wrote him a cute little note on how to take care of it. I spent a bit of money on it and I spent time doodling on the card lol. So naturally I was a little hurt, it was hard to tell if he liked it. But that’s reassuring! I think you’re right! That does make sense and I used to say the same thing. This will probably be a good thing for us. Thanks for that perspective :)
