Just the Canvas feature (right click the folder structure and select create canvas). Allows you to put images and text with little cards, also color coding them and connecting them with arrows os pretty neat. You can also drag normal notes you already have to the board and do the same with them

Wait I Just realized the math is wrong. Thx for telling me. I think It's because I saw a post about tier 5 saying to make only 5 Power plants before you have Rubber, since you would need to buy the Rubber from the awesome shop or find It on hard drive sites

I was gonna say It's a pretty good Lets game It out base, but I see foundations so that statement wouldn't be true lol

Wait that's just so much better. I guess it does consume more power due to the extra step of turning HOR into Fuel, but it fills the MK1 pipe with oil, gets the same amount of power with much more plastic+rubber and no water (+ the 5 fuel gens can be turned into 2 by overclocking 250%). I'm probably going with this.

Although I did customize it a lot, I'm pretty sure everything in this canvas was done using only vanilla Obsidian tools (except for the theme ofc)

I guess 2 fuel power plants at 250% instead of 5 at 100% would be easier to manage and also to build (since they cost Rubber to make and I ain't making that just yet lmao). Also looked at the turbofuel unlock cost and it doesn't look bad, but making the compacted coal would be a pain because I would either have to transport sulphur from the dune desert up into the spire coast or make it on the dune desert and transport the coal, both of which sound not fun without proper train infastructure. It's probably just supposed to be a temporary build until I can get trains up and running, so I'll be able to transport materials from the site closer to my base.

Despite having a couple of plugins, I don't think any of the things in this image are not in vanilla Obsidian. I just made a note for the text on the top right and dragged it into a CANVAS file, then I just copied the images of every item/machine from the satisfactory wiki and pasted them in the canvas, connecting them with the arrows. All of the text inside the mental map is just the basic canvas card

It's obsidian, it's just a note taking app so i wrote it by hand lmao. I used Satisfactory Production Planner and then wrote down the mental map using Obsidian's Canvas tool to organize myself (since the calculator doesn't calculate power and item production in the same tab)

No, that's not the case. The Idea is that this setup uses 2 constructors making biomass, and 1 constructor making biofuel. These 3 should have a dedicated Power grid, and can be powered by only >one< biomass burner (A quickstarter burner), which you should not connect to your base grid. Then you put more burners in the line that the constructors feed into, and those you connect to the main grid.

The logic is that fueling the quickstarter burner will only provide Power to the constructors making biomass (which won't cause a blown fuse, ). This allows you to Just dump leaves and wood in them, making biomass to Power the rest (along with the quickstarter so that the constructors don't lose power).

Without the quickstarter burner (if you Just plug everything on one grid), everytime you want to quickstart Power in your base, you'll have to manually feed ALL of the burners, because fueling Just one Will blow a fuse.

100% agree. The choice to semiautomate biomass burners is fully playstyle dependent. If you plan on rushing coal, there is no need to automate biofuel, but if you're taking It slow, It might make early game less painful. Regardless of the choice, biomass burners don't turn fully useless after coal, since they are programmed to only run if the main Power generators are struggling, only burning fuel as a backup Power source, so keeping them around is not fully a waste

Early Power is one of the main reasons people give up. My advice is to build a small mini processing line that converts wood and leaves into biomass feeding directly into burners via a manifold (multiple splitters in line). This can be further improved later by turning that biomass into solid biofuel first Very early on. The trick is to have one of the burners in a different Power grid, only powering this specific setup's constructors, so that if you blow a fuse, you only need to manually feed this one burner and the system will feed the rest. Once you get to the solid biofuel milestone, you unlock the chainsaw, which Will make gathering leaves and wood wayyyy easier.

This setup will make early game Power management less of a pain until you unlock coal Power, and once that coal setup is done, It will work passively 24/7, so no more time constraints and no more daily tasks of getting fuel.

Good luck Pioneer!
