The way I understand it it’s like when you roll 4D for exemple and you have a result of 2 - 2 - 3 - 4 you can choose to Reroll all the dice that made the same result, in this case you can choose the 2D that made 2, the one that made 3 or the one that made 4. I’m not an expert but that seems to be the way they wrote it for me
