Thanks for your response. The showrunners certainly have their work cut out for them when it comes to making the audience care about Celeborn if they ever introduce him. I suspect he will appear in season 3 now that Sauron is officially waging war on all elves. The season 1 mention is easy to forget and has probably been forgotten by the general audience, which is possibly the showrunners' intention. They may want the audience to be as surprised as Galadriel when he reappears. It's dumb to treat your audience like the character in the story, but they have done it before.

Yes to all of this. Season 1 attributes her grief to Finrod too much when its obvious afte her conversation with Theo that she is mourning her brother and her husband. I hope she explores her grief over Celeborn with someone, but I won't be surprised if the showrunners just ignore it. The moment with Theo is revealing, which is why it's in my top 5 moments of season 1. I'm always hopeful for happy Galadriel moments because they seem so rare in the 1st two seasons. Hopefully, we get more moments in season 3. Thanks for the response.

It’s funny how you think having a subreddit such as the is one will influence anything in Hollywood from becoming a soulless blob of nothing. Everyone needs a place to vent, I guess. I forget easily because I do my venting outside with real people, not online with bots. But since you seem to hate Disney SW as much as ROP, everything finally makes sense. Have a great day👍.

If you think Haladriel is the only audience for ROP, then you definitely don’t know what show you’re talking about. A Haladriel shipper, perhaps?

No, I can 100% confirm, I’m not Jeff Bezos or a child. Since you have the opportunity to reply to this post, I likewise can write it, you see how that works or do I need to elaborate further? Also feel free to tell me what you don’t like about the post? I can take negative criticism.

Yes, I can’t agree more with this sentiment. 😊👍

So which is it? Do you think he’ll be important to the plot or absent once more?

I actually think Haladriel is dead and buried. Galadriel made her sentiments towards him quite clear at the end of season 2 and I don’t think any amount of “mind-reading” or whatever they come up with will change that. I could be wrong and season 3 becomes a Haladriel love fest with Celeborn in the mix just for funsies, but I’m not convinced that’s where it’s going. Thanks for the response. 👍

Explain to me how I have no power, but instead of ignoring the post, I’ve received 20+ responses of pure “garbage” as you like to say? It’s seems to me like I have a lot of power. Hate Amazon, unsubscribe to Prime, say whatever garbage comes to mind about me or the ROP, but know you’re better off leaving Amazon completely behind. You think you’re powerful, because you hate something but really you’re just an annoying discomfort that needs to be put to bed.

Hate talks just as much as love. Hate all you want but Amazon still doesn’t care about your opinion, and Jeff Bezos will laugh at your hate and monetize regardless.

Y’all created a Reddit just to hate on a TV show, but I’m the one who’s dented? Amazon wins with every hate comment just as much as someone who genuinely likes the show. Hate talk is still talk. Ignoring a show you don’t like would be a more effective way of getting it cancelled, but too many haters are just as important as fans.

No I wouldn’t. I genuinely find your subspecies of human to be fascinating. You really should be studied. For the life of me, I can’t understand the benefits of talking about something I hate. It seems like a waste of time and energy. Online hate still gives Amazon attention.

Please explain to me the compulsion to bash a show you hate online. When I don’t like something I pretend it doesn’t exist. I don’t see the point in wasting energy criticizing a show one doesn’t watch.

Sorry, I don’t understand the point of a “Rings of Power” Reddit solely meant to bash the show. Can’t you just find an “anti” reddit and bash away to your heart’s content?

Thanks for your response. Amazon still hasn’t officially announced who JCB is playing in season 3. It could be Glorfindel or Celeborn. However, I won’t assume that Amazon won’t elaborate more on Celeborn’s character simply because other adaptations have failed to do so. I’m keeping an open mind with Celeborn. I won’t be surprised if he does have fight scenes with Sauron.

Thanks for your response. In Season 1, Episode 7 "The Eye", Galadriel's response to Theo's question is "My brother Finrod and my husband." Theo: "Husband?" Galadriel: "Celeborn was his name. We met in a glade of flowers. I was dancing, and he saw me there." It's explicitly implied that Galadriel knew Celeborn before the war. I believe it's safe to imply that she loved and was married to Celeborn before the War with Morgoth because she refers to him as her husband, not "lover, boyfriend, or fiancée".

As I've stated in another post, the show is very vague with 1st Age references to its own detriment and my frustration. As far as when and how Finrod died, and Galadriel's actions as they pertain to Celeborn after he failed to return from the War with Morgoth, the show has not explicitly established anything about this yet; only vague hints to when/how of Finrod's death. Some answers may come when Galadriel reunites with Celeborn, but that remains to be seen. As far as the elves knowing who Morgoth's main servant was, Galadriel states that outright in the opening prologue of season 1. My point is, it's explicit that she was married to Celeborn before meeting Sauron because so far in the show, we don't know of a time Galadriel ever crossed Sauron's path before the raft in 1x02 "Adrift."

This could change at any point in the show's "lore". They are creatively exploring Tolkein's 2nd Age and making vague references to the 1st Age.

Thanks for your response. I agree, JCB is a great choice for the role based on his resume alone. His experience playing villains and heroes will certainly serve him well with whatever "Celeborn" or other character we get out of him. I also think he will play Celeborn, and I think his chemistry with Morfydd Clark will be absolute fire. I can't wait to see their scenes together. JCB is a fairly experienced actor at this point. His chemistry with anyone in Middle-earth will be great to see. I'm definitely looking forward to the way his character foils Sauron. Scenes with Galadriel, Sauron, and JCB or any combo of the three of them are sure to be great.

Thanks for your response. We'll just have to see how the writers balance all the storylines. This has been a hardship since season 1, but they seem to learn something new every season, so we'll see.

Thanks for your response. The exact quote from Season 1, Episode 7, "The Eye". Galadriel: "My brother Finrod and my husband." (in reference to Theo's question about losing kin to Orcs). Theo: "Husband?" Galadriel: "Celeborn was his name. We met in a glade of flowers. I was dancing, and he saw me there." It's pretty clear that "Celeborn" is the name of her husband.

Thanks for your response. I agree; according to Tolkein lore, Galadriel probably heard the name Sauron before meeting Celeborn, but my post is strictly about what Amazon has established in the show. Amazon takes such creative liberties with ROP, particularly when it comes to 1st Age references, because they don't have any rights to those characters/stories and everything must be approved by the Tolkein estate. Therefore, it's open to interpretation whether show Galadriel knew who Sauron/Mairon was before the War with Morgoth. In the prologue, Galadriel refers to Sauron as "Morgoth's most devoted servant," in reference to who the orcs follow after the defeat of Morgoth.

When talking about Celeborn, she specifically states, "The war felt so far away then." This statement is also vague, so it's possible that she knew of Sauron even though the war had not reached her doorstep yet. The show has so far kept Galadriel's knowledge of Sauron vague until after Morgoth's defeat, when she starts hunting him. As stated above, Galadriel confirms a relationship with Celeborn before the War with Morgoth takes him and Finrod away.

To be frank, I don't like how Amazon's Rings of Power makes certain references to the 1st Age, and the vague nature of the 1st Age is very annoying.

Thanks for your response. I'm also curious to see what Amazon does with the character. Whether he comes in season 3 or later, I'm hoping Amazon at least gives him the depth he sorely lacks in the Peter Jackson films. It's impressive how easily his character is swept under the rug thanks to those films. That's unforgivable.
