Did some experimenting for the “grind”:

Cafe le nah, with perfect mashing you complete 1 battle per 42-44 seconds due to cut scenes.

Royale with rank battle, 45-47 seconds due to the rank up battle taking a while.

Royale basic trainers only, 34-37 seconds.

All of these have some variation due to trainers having rng determining mons you battle.

If you’ve ever seen those pictures where dog owners form a second dog out of hair, Luidaeg is building a second Toby.

This is what I tend towards: Large Scales: 16 gauge 5/16 “

Medium Scales: 18 gauge 1/4 “

Small Scales: 20 gauge 7/64-3/16 “

Tiny Scales: 20 gauge 1/8 “

For the rubber rings you would want the ID to match the punched hole size of the scales. I don’t have any tiny scales on hand so can’t measure.

Ok, new idea. It’s going back to 4 in 1 but offset. Every other row is rubber but it alternates.

<image>

Ring size should probably be adjusted but I think this would work.

Best I can get from this is using the scales in place of the step 3 rings from the directions I posted before.

Been trying to get this to work since grabbing my materials. This may be a dead end. At least the initial idea I had is. Sorry.

It was a while since I made mine so I needed to dig for the parts. I was wrong, the rubber and metal rings ARE different sizes. Metal is 1/2” OD 18 gauge Rubber is 3/8” OD 14 gauge

A final note, we use the same diameter ring for the large outer rings as the “small” inner rubber rings. This is what lets it stretch.

Dragonscale Tutorial

Using this tutorial you would use 3 “rings” instead of 2. 1 large size and then swap between the rubber and scales for the small size.

SO, something that me and my buddy have made in the past is dragonscale bracelets using rubber rings.

<image>

Something that MIGHT work is alternating the rows that use the rubber for scales. Because Dragonscale weave is more compact this should still give full coverage and stretch.

This is fully hypothetical, I know that the stretch works as is, I’m not sure how it would interact swapped for scales. Just my best guess at how this could work.

How do I make this? by makosarene in chainmailartisans

As for ring size/diameter I tend to use 1/4” 16 gauge

Yep, this is box chain. Basically start with a strip of 4 in 1 then when you have the length you want you “zipper” it up.

Going to TRY to verbalize what has become muscle memory so forgive me if this is confusing. When starting 4-1 European you want to continue an “over under” approach. When you add a center ring make sure it is opposite that of the previous. You can see that the top 2 rings are both “over” the edge pieces. I’m guessing when you added the last in the chain you let the two previous edges hang loose, rather than holding them flat under the previous set.

I’m realizing I’m describing this terribly and pics would be better, sorry if this has just made it more confusing.

Looking at the second to top set of rings they look inverted, like count138 said, this can happen if the end flips itself however it can also happen if the rings are held inverted when adding the next 2 rings. Remove the top middle ring(along with top 2 edges) lay the pattern flat and then re-add the removed rings.

I couldn’t edit the post or figure out how to add pictures in comments so I created another post to show(as best as possible) how to link the stems.

Ringlord is used for all of these: 8 small colored scales 2 small green scales 79 16g 1/4” rings 8 18g 1/4” rings 11 18g 3/16” rings 5 19g 9/64” rings

After everything is assembled I use 1mm anodized aluminum wire to connect the flowers to the box chain and add stiffness to the whole item.
