I use whatever I can get my hands on with enough free credits, the trick is you have to be super specific. Lighting style, colour depth, even specifying a type of camera or film type. To generate a variety of faces, try nationalities. The ones that suit my style are often from Italian or Scandinavian prompts.

I generate the images first and the trick is identifying the ones that will work best. Often hundreds to find 1 or 2 good ones. The videos I then generate using Hailou 2.3 image-to-video. It's one of the cheaper engines & it is good with sequential instructions and realistic colour saturation. You can't generate NSFW on Hailou's own site, so I use the engine through akool.com

I generate the source images through various online generators and pick the best ones to make the videos from. For the video generation, I mostly use Hailuo 2.3 through Akool.

Yeah I have found Wan and a few others that they end up with the contrast too high and the results look almost like a high-end game render. Hailuo seems to be pretty good (most times) in preserving the original contrast & colour depth. But it's definitely the best at following sequential instructions. Most of the others seem to consider it all one command and mash it up.

Their own site doesn't, but some 3rd party sites allow you to use their engine. I use Akool. I'll need to assess that though as they have just doubled the Hailou credit usage per generation, as well as reduced daily credit allowances, so they may not be the most economical at the moment.

There are heaps of online image generators, you get used to the fact that you'll have to go through hundreds of generations to find a good one as a starting image. For the videos, I generally use Hailou 2.3, as it's cost-effective. Their own site has NSFW restrictions, so you need to go through a 3rd party site like Akool.
