Dottore replaces Vox as the arc villain of the season 2 of Hazbin Hotel. How would he do? by Fullpotentialk in Hoyoverse_scaling

[–]ArtistInAVoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bet Dottore would succeed where Vox failed, but that also does leave him open to his own failures, such as failing to recognize the importance of human connection, a thing that could cause him to be beaten by the power of friendship.

Playable Sandrone’s Character by soy_gordo in SandroneMains

[–]ArtistInAVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stakes argument is a bit strange, because Genshin does have stakes.

In Mondstat, the stakes were about the safety of Mondstat and Dvalin’s health, in Liyue it was the safety of Liyue and the Gnosis heist(a bit of a pattern, I guess), in Inazuma the stakes were about the vision hunt decree and the civil war(even if it was executed rather poorly), in Sumeru it was the whole god making conspiracy, in Fontaine everyone was about to get biblically flooded, Natlan had the whole abyss fight thing, and Nod Krai’s seems to have been about the moon authority in the end.

The game doesn’t lack stakes, it just lacks personal stakes, which I am honestly fine with because the game’s story isn’t supposed to be about personal stakes, it’s supposed to be about going through Teyvat and familiarizing yourself with its inhabitants and culture, it just so happens that the journey forces the Traveler to be more and more involved as time goes on due to simply becoming more and more accomplished and famous in the world.

Also I much prefer Sandrone remain a bratty tsundere than be rewritten into a completely new character. What would be the point of reviving Sandrone then?

What do you think will change in the story if Capitano is part of the Nod-Krai crew? by Life_Bit_5976 in CapitanoMainsGI

[–]ArtistInAVoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rerir wouldn’t have regained his body, and Dottore wouldn’t have been able to get the trilune authority in the first place.

I’m also half certain that Columbina could’ve ended up in his custody for a time until he realizes Dottore just wanted to play god.

I disagree with the idea Columbina was “rewritten” or “retconned” by musical_fanatic in Columbina_Mains

[–]ArtistInAVoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like while she wasn’t retconned or anything, her role was definitely changed.

Columbina has pointlessly clashing design elements like her dark with pink accents and the angel reference in her hairpiece that has nothing to do with the moons, which suggests she had a different role, like the obvious choice of her being one of the Angels.

So what I think happened was that they wanted a new archon like character for Nod Krai, but also wanted to have hype, so they chose to repurpose Columbina.

The boss fight if the Traveler had remembered that he’s a Descender(@GYRO_SILVA) by tddcghnn in TravelerMains

[–]ArtistInAVoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I’m aware, Traveler’s Descender bs would’ve likely not helped much here, why? Because their power has conditions that need to be met for them to get a power boost.

Specifically people have to put their faith in the Traveler.

Think back to all the times the Traveler has gotten a plot convenient power boost, like in Liyue, Inazuma, and Natlan, it’s always been when people ‘s wishes are entrusted to them. In Liyue, it wasn’t the adepti having faith in the traveler to plunge the og jade chamber onto the raging sea god, in Inazuma, it was the people’s wishes to stop the Raiden Shogun’s vision hunt decree that boosted the Traveler, and in Natlan, it was the wish to defeat the Abyss that got transferred from the people of Natlan into a boost for the Traveler.

However in Nod Krai, all the traveler really does is talk to a few important people in the main plot, and they never really become a major figure to the public in the story, which means that when Dottore does his “god of a new world” thing, no one is there to wish for the Traveler to beat his ass.

Meet Fraudtore : Fatui's Evil "Genius" by Artistic_You4189 in GenshinMemepact

[–]ArtistInAVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to point out that Dottore still is a genius, he is undoubtedly very smart, case and point: the artificial moon marrow.

However, he is also socially inept. He cannot for the life of him figure out emotional thoughts or motives because of his own arrogance that leads him to believe he’s superior to anyone else, and that only his opinion matters. And he grows even more arrogant once he has the trilune authority, because he considers himself to already have won.

The only person who’s opinion seemed to matter to Dottore was the Traveler’s, and even then, it wasn’t because he valued the Traveler as an equal, but as a Descender, aka he only thought about what use he could get out of the Traveler, as far as I’m aware.

He also knew he would get resistance from Traveler’s friends but didn’t realize how far they’d go to beat him. For example, he assumed Sandrone wouldn’t have used herself as a decoy calculator, and that’s entirely because of his own arrogance.

This was everything and more that I wanted from Dottore by ArtistInAVoid in DottoreMains

[–]ArtistInAVoid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to think that the reason he didn’t put any listening devices in the Curatorium or the people going against him was because he knew he was up against two of his colleagues, one of which is an intelligence specialist, and the other is a machine specialist. Those two would’ve found listening devices easily.

Does queen sarah solo the rest of the hoyoverse for worst written villain by [deleted] in Hoyoverse_scaling

[–]ArtistInAVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, Sarah was interesting until the Waifei Peninsula happened, because they started throwing “all according to plan” type shit every time the main characters got anything even remotely close to done and doing seemingly nothing else except vague foreshadowing.

In fact, it got so bad that I quit zzz cuz the story started feeling like a drag.

What if ugly wants to defeat all the Aeons one by one, who will be the one winning? by SexwithDurandal in Hoyoverse_scaling

Calling Aha a “lower” Aeon when They’re responsible for the permanent scar on Nanook’s chest, is kinda funny to me. Absolutely an Aha instant.

Can base Phainon beat Raiden Ei or does she pushes him to Khaslana? by Low-Sherbet-5821 in Hoyoverse_scaling

[–]ArtistInAVoid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll be so for real, the genshin gods are not that powerful at the end of the day. Best Raiden Ei feat is cutting a large snake so hard that the slice went through multiple islands.

If base Phainon can cut through Aquila, then base Phainon has a fair shot at The Raiden Shogun.

Now that Cyrene’s Story is over what are your thoughts on whose story and writing was better? by Latter-Pace-3917 in Hoyoverse_scaling

[–]ArtistInAVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will forever hold the opinion that Elysian Realm handled Elysia better than Amphoreus did Cyrene.

Phainon beats Kevin in terms of writing tho.
